(including 1,000 international students) with Biotechnology, Business, Engineering,

Energy Science, Information Technology, Medical Science, Nanotechnology, and

International Studies among the most prominent majors. Our beautiful tree-lined

campus offers study and relaxation areas, gyms and sporting facilities, outdoor parks

and al fresco cafes along with individual and group study and collaboration rooms,

亚洲大学概况

- 亚洲大学始建于1973年，是韩国名列前茅的研究型综合大学。亚洲大学

落座于首尔郊区，拥有11所学院，生命科学学院、商学院、工程学院、能源

科学学院、信息管理学院、医学院、纳米科学学院和国际研究学院是在韩

韩国亚洲大学(AJOUUNIVERSITY)国际暑期学校

1.主要内容：“国际化与韩流(GlobalizationandK-Wave)”

- 亚洲大学（AjouUniversity）的国际暑期学校将为学生提供对国际化

与韩流的全面理解与经验，其中包含有关K-Pop，韩语，韩国企业等内

容

- 在为期两周的课程中，学生将通过讲座获得学术、文化与语言方面的

知识。本次项目提供一系列的参观活动

* 参观活动：K-Pop舞蹈课程/K-Style中心/韩国电视台/

三星电子创新博物馆（SIM）与三星国际人力资源部(HRD)

- 项目还包含一些有益的户外活动，学生将在韩国历史有关的遗址与

现代建筑的徒步旅行中探索首尔的历史与现代性

* 户外活动：首尔北村韩屋村/东大门设计广场/

非武装地带（朝韩军事分界线/DMZ）

- 学生将从发展的角度了解韩流的不同组成部分，并通过实地考察认

识韩流的核心人员，体验他们对文化的建构与实现

- 课程包括讲座、参与式课程与团队活动。学生将在韩国学生的主持下

分为小组，自主选择韩流的一个领域，深入研究、完成小组活动并展

示他们的讨论结果

- 在项目期间，每个外国学生将分配到韩国语伙伴（Buddy）

- 师资力量：亚洲大学商学院、数字媒体研究学院、社会学院的教师以

及杰出的工业和文化的相关人士为学生提供韩国音乐、电影、游戏、

文化、商业和教育领域的专业知识

COURSE DESCRIPTION: GLOBALIZATION AND THE K-WAVEAjou International Summer School (AISS) is pleased to offer a new summer course,

“Globalization and the K-Wave”.

KoreanCulturalandCommercialproductshaveexplodedintotheworld’sconsciousness

in recent times. K-Pop groups tour all inhabited continents. Korean movies and dramas

have wowed Eastern audiences and Western critics. Korean gaming firms churn out

an endless supply of hits that are enjoyed by players and viewed everywhere in the

exploding e-sports sector. Korean companies dominate the world in industries as

varied as mobile phones, shipbuilding, construction, televisions, heavy machinery,

andmicrochipfabrication.Howdidasmall,dividedpeninsularnationwithjustnorth

of 50 million residents come to wield such outsized influence on world culture and

commerce?

Our newly designed “Globalization and the K-Wave” provides you with first-hand

experiences and understandings about globalization and the K-wave generally, with

focalpointsincludingKoreanpop-culture,language,andbusiness.Duringthis2-week

intensive program, participants will gain academic, cultural and linguistic appreciation

through thoughtful academic lectures. Outside of the classroom, the program will

alsoprovideexcursionstotheK-StyleHub,aKoreanTVstudio,aK-Popdanceclass,

SamsungElectronicsInnovationMuseum(SIM)andSamsungHumanResourcesDivision

(HRD)forGlobalization,andaDigitalMediaFirm.Additionally,studentswillexplore

the modernity and history of Seoul on a walking tour visiting the royal palace grounds,

aBukchonpilgrimageroute,theDongdaemunDesignPlazaandeventheDemilitarized

Zone(DMZ)borderingNorthKorea.Overall,studentswill learnabout thedifferent

components of hallyu, or the K-wave, both from its developmental aspects along with

site visits to meet its creators and experience their actualizations of their visions of

cultural products. It will be an educational and cultural adventure never forgotten.

The course will be comprised of lectures, experiential learning and team activities.

Together with our Korean student facilitators, student groups will choose one area of

the K-Wave to focus and dive more deeply, create a collaborative project, and present

their findings.

Overall, students will gain an understanding behind the dynamo that created the Korean

wave along with the different parts of this cultural phenomenon and how they worked

together to give Korea such global cultural and commercial influence.

along with distinguished industrial and cultural leaders will provide students with

extensive expertise in Korean music, movies, gaming, cultural, commercial, and

educational sectors. Our diverse faculty of Korean and International scholars publish

works on these topics in well-regarded global academic journals. And they frequently

travel worldwide to share the results of their research at international conferences.

But teaching is always a primary passion of all Ajou faculty, so students will receive

dedicated, passionate lectures from experts in their fields.
