INSTALLATION
Customer Information: The information in thisinstallation instruction is intended for use only byskilled technicians who have the proper tools,equipment, and training to correctly and safely addequipment to your vehicle. These procedures shouldnot be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the radio station presets.
2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative cablefrom the battery.
Cutting the Front Bumper
3. Remove these parts from the front bumper: fourtop clips, six bottom clips, two bottom self-tapping screws, and two fender area screws.Remove the front bumper by pulling it out towardyou. Place the front bumper on a blanket, toprevent damage while installing the fog lights.

4. Apply masking tape around the cover on the leftside of the front bumper as shown.

8. While wearing eye protection, drill an 8 mm holethrough the hole you just made. First drill with a3 mm drill bit, then with a 6 mm drill bit, and finishwith an 8 mm drill bit. Remove any burrs from theedge of the hole.
9. Repeat steps 4 thru 8 to cut and drill the right sideof the bumper.

Routing the Fog Light Harness
10. Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable. Removethe positive battery cable, and clip from thebattery.
11. Remove the battery holder bolt and nut, thenremove the battery holder.
12. Remove the battery.

5. Wearing gloves, remove the cover from the leftside of the front bumper by cutting the five tabswith a hand saw.
6. Using a file, finish the edges smooth and flat, andremove the masking tape.
7. Inside the bumper, make a hole in the center markon the bumper with a pushpin.

14. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (longside) through the square hole under the rear of theright headlight up and into the enginecompartment.
15. On the vehicle frame, remove the ground terminalbolt, then attach the fog light harness groundterminal using the ground terminal bolt. Do notconnect to the centralized ground on the frontside.
16. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicleharness near the square hole in the front fenderwith one wire tie.
13. Remove the power steering reserve tank from thevehicle bracket by pulling it upward. Move thereserve tank out of the way.

17. Route the fog light harness to the left along thevehicle harness. Secure it to the vehicle harnesswith the four wire ties in the areas shown.

18. Continue to route the fog light harness to the left(driver’s) side along the vehicle harness and upthrough the opening under the left headlight.
19. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicleharness with six wire ties.

21. Attach two wire ties with clips to the fog lightharness, then push the clips into the holes in theright front side plate.
22. Secure the fog light harness, routed to the lowerside of the left headlight, to the vehicle harnesswith three wire ties in the areas shown. Do notsecure to the fog light harness to the yellow SRSharness.

Routing the Subharness
26. Remove the six clips and two self-tapping screws,and pull the right (passenger’s) side front innerfender down in the direction shown.

27. Inside the right front inner panel, locate the rubbergrommet. Push the grommet out and into thepassenger’s compartment. Route the subharnessinto the passenger’s compartment, and seat theharness grommet in the panel hole.
Installing the Fog Light
23. Push the boss of the left fog light into the hole inthe front bumper, made in step 8, then fit the leftfog light into place on the left of the front bumper.
24. Under the front bumper, install the washer-bolt tosecure the left fog light to the front bumper.
25. Repeat steps 23 and 24 to install the right fog lightonto the bumper.

28. Route other end of the subharness through theinner fender toward the front of the vehicle. Plugthe subharness 1-pin connector into the fog lightharness 1-pin connector routed in step 14.
29. Near the 1-pin connector, secure the fog lightharness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie inthe area shown. Attach the subharness to theinner fender panel with two additional wire ties withclips from the kit, and the one harness clip alreadyattached to the subharness. Insert the clips intothe empty holes in the inner fender panel.
30. Reinstall the right (passenger’s) side front innerfender.

Routing the Switch Harness
32. Inside the passenger’s compartment, remove thedashboard lower cover on the driver’s side. Turn thetwo knobs counterclockwise, and release the fourretaining tabs.

31. With the help of an assistant, connect the fog lightharness 2-pin connectors to the right and left foglights, and reinstall the front bumper.

35. Remove the driver’s pocket (one self-tapping screwand two retaining tabs). If equipped with a switch,open the pocket, remove the self-tapping screw torelease the panel, and disconnect the harness fromthe switch.
36. Remove the right (passenger’s) side kick panel(two clips).

33. Turn the knob counterclockwise, and release thetwo clips, and remove the driver’s dashboardunder cover.

37. Remove the escutcheon, and center console trim.
A/T Model:
• With the parking brake applied, place the gearshift lever in the Neutral Position.
• Pry up on the four retaining pawls and removethe escutcheon tabs.
• Pry up on the three clips and six retaining tabsand remove the center console trim.
M/T Model:
• Remove the shift knob from the lever byholding the plastic section above the bootdown firmly with one hand, and turning theknob in a counterclockwise direction with theother hand.
• Pry up on the four retaining tabs and removethe escutcheon.
• Pry up on the three clips and six retaining tabsand remove the center console trim.

38. Remove the center lower trim (two self-tappingscrews, nine clips, one retaining tab, and unplugthe accessory socket connector).
39. Open the center console lid, and remove the mat.

44. Get the switch harness. Route the switch harnessunder the dash, and over the steering shaft andthe brake position switch harness.

42. Open the glove box completely, and remove thestopper from each side.
43. Locate the subharness installed in step 27. Routethe subharness through the glove boxcompartment area, and secure the subharness tothe vehicle harness with four wire ties.

45. Attach the relay bracket to the steering hangerbeam using the washer-bolt.
46. Plug the relay into the relay block, then attach therelay block to the relay bracket.

47. Plug the 6-pin connector:
A/T Model: Remove the tape to free the switchharness 6-pin connector. Unplug the vehicle 6-pinconnector (green) from the fuse box, and plug thegreen 6-pin connector from the switch harness intothe fuse box. Plug the vehicle 6-pin connector(green) into the remaining switch harness 6-pinconnector (green).
M/T Model:There is no 6-pin connector pluggedinto the fuse box; plug the switch harness 6-pinconnector directly into the fuse box.

54. Remove and discard the switch cover from thecenter lower trim (removed in step 38), then pullthe switch harness 6-pin connector out through thehole in the lower trim.

57. Route the switch harness terminal (long end)above the combination switch along the vehicleharness.
58. On the left side of the combination switch, unplugthe vehicle 16-pin connector.

63. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.
64. Reinstall all removed parts.
65. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
66. Reset the clock and the radio station presetbuttons.
NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, thedriver’s window AUTO function is disabled.
67. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’swindow switch until the window is fully open.
68. Pull up on the driver’s window switch to close thewindow completely, then hold the switch for2 seconds or more.
69. Lower and raise the driver’s window to checkoperation of the driver’s window AUTO function.
70. Do the ECU idle learn procedure
- Make sure all electrical items are turned off.
- Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or Neutral) untilthe radiator fan comes on.
- Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes withthe throttle fully closed and with all electricalitems off.
NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on during thisstep, the time it operates must not be includedin the 5 minutes.
NOTE: When the battery terminals are disconnected:"Remaining Capacity of the IMA Battery" is notindicated when the engine is started. It will beindicated after driving for about 30 minutes. At thattime, "regeneration" will be lowered temporarily, butthis is normal.
USE AND CARE
How to Operate Fog Lights
• Turn the light switch to the “on” position (headlightson low beam).
• Press the fog light switch (indicator is on).
The fog light lenses can cloud when the outsidetemperature is cold; this is normal and should go awayin warm weather.

3. Remove the bulb along with the socket.
4. Install the new bulb and socket into the fog light.
• Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb ofspecified wattage.
Rating: 12V 35W H8 Halogen Light Bulb
• Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasysubstances on the bulb can shorten its servicelife due to the heat produced when the bulb isturned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched,wipe it clean with a clean, soft cloth that hasbeen dampened with denatured alcohol or milddetergent solution.
• Align the tab on the fog light with the cutout inthe bulb socket when installing the new bulb. Ifnot aligned, the fog light may not be aimed andannoy oncoming drivers.
5. Reinstall the fog light in the reverse order ofremoval.
• Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched.
• Be sure to tighten the self-tapping screwssecurely.
BULB REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the washer-bolt that fastens the fog light,and pull the light out toward you.
2. Unplug the connector from the fog light, thenremove the fog light.
Fog Light Aiming Adjustment
1. Adjust the fog lights:
• Adjust the aim according to local laws andregulations.
• To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment gear in orout until the correct aiming is obtained.
