receivedfundingfromBenFranklinTechnologyPartners(BFTP)ofSoutheasternPennsylvaniafordesign,developmentandtestingofAdvancedPowerConversionAssemblies(APCA)modulestobedeliveredtopotentialcustomerswhoaremanufacturersofsolarinverters,windturbines,smartgridandotherprovidersofrenewableenergyproducts.

TheneedfortheCompanysproductsisbeingdrivenbymarketrequirementsformorepowerful,fasterIGBTSwitchDriverscapableofwithstandinghighervoltages.Asbothswitchingspeedsandswitchsizesincrease,thedemandsonSwitchDriversincrease.

TypicallymodulesliketheAPCAaredevelopedbyinvertermanufacturers.Thisrequiresthattheyhavethecapabilityinhousetobridgedigitaldesignaswellasmechanicalandpowerelectronics.Invertercompaniesaretypicallylookingtodifferentiatebasedonfunctionalityoutsideofthepowerconversionprocessitselfthroughsoftwareandservice,andarelookingforthird-partysolutions.

AgileSwitchdevelopstransformativetechnologythatimprovestheperformanceandefNiciencyofdriversforIGBTswitches.IGBTsareusedinavarietyofpowerconvertersincludingsolar/PVinverters,windturbines,motorsdrives,uninterruptablepowersupplies,industrialmachines,hybridelectricvehicles,tractionandpowerdistribution.

TheCompanysNirstproductisadriverforaninsulatedgatebipolartransistor(IGBT)module,whichisacomponentofaninverter,adevicethatconvertsdirectcurrenttoalternatingcurrent.TheseIGBTdriversweredesignedfromthegrounduptobecompatiblewithIGBTsproducedbyFujiElectricSemiconductors.AgileSwitchpreviouslyreceivedfundingfromBFTPfordevelopmentofthesedrivers.

AgileSwitchreceivedfundingfromPAsBenFranklinTechnologyDevelopmentAuthoritythroughitsCompetitiveEnergyConsortia(CEC)program.TheCECispartoftheregionseffortstoestablishGreaterPhiladelphiaasthehubPowerValleyfor

alternativeenergydevelopmentintheMid-Atlantic.
