President’s Message Howdy Aggie Moms!
Happy New Year to You and Happy New
Semester to all your Aggies! If one of your resolutions
is to make new friends and visit with old friends, come
join us at our next General Meeting on Monday, January
18. Our guest speaker will be the Texas A&M Student
Counseling Center Executive Director, Maggie Gartner,
Ph.D. We will also be honoring our December
Graduates. Whoop!
We enjoyed a great Fall Semester in Collin County
Aggie Moms (CCAM). Our Sales of Pecans, Poinsettias,
Ornaments, and Scrip Gift Cards were all great
successes. We joined with other local Aggie Moms Clubs
to create a marketplace of unique Aggie items at the
Howdy Holiday Sale and our Boutique was outstanding.
Thank you to everyone who bought or sold for us. A
special thank you goes to the ladies who coordinated
the fundraising efforts. You are greatly appreciated!
It’s never too late to get more involved in club
activities. The Aggie Moms Connecting co-chairs
continue to offer Bunco Nights and a variety of
opportunities to get together for social events.
The Federation of Texas A&M University Mothers’ Clubs
will be hosting the winter meeting in College Station on
Saturday, January 23rd. All Aggie Moms are invited!
Check the Federation website www.aggiemoms.org/ for
more details.
Save the date of Friday, April 1 for the CCAM Howdy
Rowdy Round Up. It will be a great event with Dinner, a
Silent Auction, a Wine and Cork Pull, Incredible Edibles
and more. Stay tuned for more information.
Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about officer
positions for next year. Please consider joining the
CCAM Board for the 2016-17 school year. It is a truly
rewarding experience. If you have a desire to serve in a
board or committee chair position, please let me know
of your interest.
Thanks and Gig ‘em,
Christy Kinnaird

Spring Fundraiser
Fun Opportunity! Howdy Folks! The Spring Fundraiser is just around the
corner, and we need your help. We are adding a new
opportunity to participate by bringing a bottle of "hard"
liquor for a Cork Pull (misleading but not wine)--
minimum of $20 bottle of liquor.
Event goers will buy a cork which will match a bottle of
liquor so it's a win-win for everyone. The incentive is
that there will be a VERY nice bottle of liquor in the
selection to entice folks. Bottles will be visible (unlike
the Wine Pull) to add a little fun and interest.
Please bring a bottle of unopened liquor (minimum
value $20) to the monthly meeting or contact Kim
Hagerty at [email protected] or (469) 939-
8376 for questions or to arrange for pick up.
Spring Fundraiser Wine Pull
Cabernet, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zinfindel,
Reisling... the list goes on and on! Please consider
donating a delicious bottle of wine (valued at a
minimum of $10.00) for our 2016 Aggie Bonfire
Wine Pull which will be held during our Annual Spring
Fundraiser. Note: please make sure all wine has been
stored at the correct temperature prior to making
donation.
The wine will then be gift wrapped and decorated for
display at the Wine Pull and sold for $10.00 a chance.
We also are in need of several “High $$$” bottles of
wine. Please bring donated bottles of wine to
the January or February General Meetings or
contact Janet Davis ’79 to arrange pick
up. [email protected] or (972)741-6005. Donation
Gift Receipt is also available upon request. Thanks in
advance and Gig’em!
Big Event Aggie moms will be volunteering at the same time as
our Aggies for our very own Collin County Big Event,
Saturday, April 2. Details to come!
