Prayer Meeting
February 1
Discuss Readings from Days 19-30
I am encouraging our whole congregation to join me in following a daily Bible reading plan in this first month of the year, "30 Days with Jesus." And on Wednesdays I will lead the auditorium class in a discussion of the previous week's readings. As in the past the Wednesday evening ladies class will continue to meet, but I hope that participants in that class will also take part in this reading plan. And each Sunday morning in January I plan to base the sermon on reacent readings from the plan.
A few suggestions regarding these readings:
1. Find a reading partner -- perhaps a spouse, another family member, a friend in the community, a neighbor, or a coworker.
2. Select a time of the day when you will do this reading -- maybe first thing in the morning or just before bed, or perhaps just after a meal.
Make notes with insights you discover or questions you want help with -- you could write these things on the back of the sheet of paper with the reading plan on it.
Finally, even if I have previously given you a copy of this reading plan, please use an updated copy that has some adjustments and corrections on it. I will have copies available this coming Sunday, and all of the congregation with e-mail access should have received a message with this reading plan attached to it.
