Young Adults Lord’s Day - Sunday, May 19, 4-7pm Fr. Nick Hagen invites all young adults to Urban Catholic Lord’s Day next Sunday evening, when he’ll present the fourth of Five Pillars of a Catholic Plan for Life, “Mystagogy: Commitment to Prayer.” Don’t be an accidental Catholic — make plans today to be the saint you were meant to be. Join us at 4:30pm in the Bride’s Room for the presentation, then stay for Mass with the parish. We’ll then head next door to the rectory for a social hour — and outside on the patio, if the weather cooperates. Confessions are also available in the church from 4-4:25pm. Visit https://nativity-mn.org/urban-catholic for more information about Urban Catholic, a dynamic young adult movement at Nativity of Our Lord. And/or, invite a friend and #jointhemovement.
NCCW Board Meeting - Monday, May 13, 7pm Nativity of Our Lord’s Council of Catholic Women’s next monthly board meeting is this Monday evening in Steiner Hall. All women of the parish are members and are welcome and encouraged to attend our monthly meetings.
Concerts The Singers: Helios - Saturday, May 18, 7:30pm The Singers return to Nativity of Our Lord for the world premier of Timothy Takach’s Helios next Saturday, May 18 in the church. Years in the making, Helios is a concert-length work that explores the mythology surrounding our galaxy. Hear the horse-led chariots in Neptune, and the siren call of the sopranos and altos as they sing of Jupiter. Takach is one of choral music’s leading composers, and his gifts for melody and drama are evident throughout this event! Tickets will be available at the door or at http://www.singersmca.org.
Deacons Deacon Jerry’s 40th Anniversary - Sunday, May 19, 12pm Next Sunday, May 19 we will be celebrating Deacon Jerry Devine's 40th Anniversary of his ordination to the Diaconate. Deacon Devine, a Nativity of Our Lord parishioner, spent most of his years of service at Nativity parish, including 15 years in full time ministry at Nativity. As part of his role as a Deacon he has baptized hundreds of our baby parishioners! He currently volunteers through the Chaplains Office at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. Following the 11am Mass we will have an ice cream social on the east lawn outside the church (in addition to Donut Sunday). Please join us in honoring Deacon Jerry!
