Book week – Book Review – The Lorax
Author – Dr Seuss
The story is about a man that makes a jumper
out of a tree. Then, he cut down a tree and out
comes the Lorax. Forever they hated each
other.
I would recommend the book
to Year 4 because it is funny,
but it is long and it will last
you a while. I give it 5 stars. At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Beryl Kennedy. She has worked with us for a long time, in breakfast and after school club. We will miss her around school. Thank you for all your help and hard work Mrs Kennedy—keep in touch and best of luck for the future.
What an amazing effort! A brilliant
book week—stories, tellers,
characters, costumes and lots of
‘pretending’. Thank you to Miss Witton
who co-ordinated our week.

Thank you to all those who made and attended the learning conferences this week. There was so much positive feedback to be given to parents and children, as well as to receive as a school. Thank you!

Carbrooke Cafes
The teachers are setting the
dates for the Summer Term
Cafes! Look out for them on the
dates section of the newsletter.
All classes are holding an Easter
Café on 30th March at 1:45pm.
We would love to see you all
there.
Book Week
An outstanding storyteller - John Row - has visited our school this week as part of Book Week. He worked with all classes and gave us tips about how to write stories and poems! Children were thoroughly engaged with his stories and were on the edge of their seats waiting to hear more! Many children bought his book at the end of the day, which he kindly autographed. Overall the children had an amazing day. I wish we could do it every Wednesday!

Many thanks for completing our school questionnaire. We would
encourage you to complete your views on ParentView. You can
come into school and complete this on our laptops, or can access it from home by
googling Parentview, or by finding the link on our website. Alternatively, there will be
some available throughout the Carbrooke Café’s.
24th March—Mums afternoon
Calling all the mums and
special ladies…
We would like to welcome you
into school on Friday 24th
March from 2:30pm to enjoy
some special treats, to say
Happy Mothering Sunday to
you all. A confirmed
attendance is required to
ensure we have enough
goodies for you all. Please sign
up at the school office by
Wednesday 22nd March.
Please do remember that class teachers are the first port of call with issues regarding your child. They can be seen, by prior arrangements, at a mutually convenient time.
If you would like to come in and talk to a member of the Senior Leadership Team please ask the office staff to book you a time. Please note, it is also possible to ask for a telephone discussion if this is more convenient.
Book Swap!
We have set up an area where you can bring and swap reading books as and when you would like to. This is at the front of the building, on the outside, near the library door. There are books there now, suitable for adults and all ages of children. Please come and borrow or swap a book, or two, whenever you would like to.
Book Reviews
Please remember to complete and
return your book reviews to the
school office. Many thanks.
Please remember to use our
breakfast and after school club
when you need additional school
care. Booking is recommended
and forms are available from
outside the school office.
Breakfast club is open from
7:45am each day. After school
club runs from 3:15—6pm.
As we approach the summer term, may I please take this
opportunity to remind parents that we have assessments
and testing during May and June for all children across the
school. In some classes this is not formal, and in some it is
statutory. Please consider this when making a decision
about taking your children out of school. Many thanks.
