A Mountain Hideaway to Celebrate Vail's 50thMonday August 27, 2012

America's largest ski resort turns 50 this December andit's treating itself to a week-long party and a shiny newtoy. From December 10-16, 2012, Vail w ill celebrate itsmilestone w ith live concerts in Vail Village and at Mid Vailalong w ith an ultimate birthday bash on SaturdayDecember 15th, complete w ith culinary treats, fireworks,and a concert at Ford Park.

The party w ill also show off the new Vail VillageGondola. Replacing the former Vista Bahn chairlift, thesleek and super-fast, 10-passenger cabins comeequipped w ith heated seats and Wi-Fi access, meaningyou can text your friends w ithout the fear of droppingyour phone or gloves into the snow below.

To be part of the action, you'll need the perfect partypad, a place where you can kick back and revel in thebeauty of the mountain that inspired Vail's foundersPete Seibert and Earl Eaton. Set at 10,500, among thegladed runs of Game Creek Bowl, the Game Creek Chalet delivers mountaintop ski-in/ski-outaccess, guaranteeing you'll get first tracks in Game Creek Bowl if it snows overnight.

The three-bedroom, five-bathroom hideaway boasts a chalet chic design accented by vaultedbeamed ceilings. It comes equipped w ith the essentials--hot tub, game room, and fireplace. Tomake the experience more lavish, a stay at Game Creek includes meals prepared by a privatechef, all beverages, lift tickets, and a morning mountain guide to help you get acquainted w ithVail Mountain's 5,289 acres of terrain.
