Egg Osmosis ExperimentBy: Aaron Lapuz 8-73
Purpose
O The purpose for this is to observe osmosis in a cell
O 1.Place eggs in vinegar, To remove shell
O 2. Measure weight or egg using a balance.
PurposeO 3.Measure the
size of egg using measuring tape.
O 4. Place one egg in water, place the other egg in corn syrup.
O 5.Measure egg again.
HypothesisWater Egg
O Weight-I think the weight will be lighter
O Size-I think the size will be smaller
O Look-The egg will probably look like a original egg
Hypothesis 2
Corn Syrup EggO Weight- I think that
the weight of the egg might be lighter
O Size-I think that the size will be smaller
O Look- The egg will look like a weird egg
MaterialsO EggsO BeakersO BalanceO StringO Measuring TapeO VinegarO Corn SyrupO Water
Observation
Vinegar EggAfter 24 hours there
was some foam at the top of the egg.
Water EggAfter the egg sat in water for 24 hours it got heavier
and the size got bigger.
Corn SyrupAfter the egg sat in corn syrup for 24 hours it got demented and deflated
Observation 2
Conclusion Corn Syrup
• Got smaller• Egg went out the egg
• Egg had Higher concentration• Water moves
Water egg• Got larger
• water egg had lower concentration
• Water moves from high concentration to low
