Objectives
• Level 1: As a result of this session you will be able to define the purpose of Mustang Meeting as well as identify and describe the elements of Mustang Meeting.
• Level 2: As a result of this session you will be able compare and contrast the role of a teacher to the role of an advocate and explain how you will make adjustments to become an advocate during Mustang Meeting.
A Case Study
• Examine the following case study of best practices and take C-Notes on the following points– Describe the teachers relationship with his
students.– What does the teacher fail to do with the
student?– Predict how the teachers class would be
different if he had a better relationship with his students.
Mustang Meeting
Mustang Meeting gives teachers and students the opportunity to work together to create a positive school culture and climate. During Mustang Meeting teachers will build positive relationships with students, giving all Morey students a trusted advocate with whom they have a positive relationship.
Purpose of Mustang Meeting
• The primary intention behind Mustang Meeting is to help foster positive, meaningful relationships between students and their peers as well as staff.
The Role of the Teacher in Mustang Meeting
• The role of the teacher in Mustang Meeting has two parts, one is that of the facilitator. As a facilitator you will lead students through activities and discussions that will help to shape the culture and climate of Morey
• The most important role that you will play during Mustang meeting is that of the advocate. Lets explore this role in more detail
The Advocate
• Advocate - A person who argues the case of another, such as a lawyer in a court; A person who speaks in support of something; A person who supports someone to make their voice heard, or ideally to speak up for themselves; To argue for someone else; To encourage support for something

an advocate and who was she advocating for?
– Speculate on the relationships that Erin Brockovich has with the people she advocates for.
