PORT ACCESS IN NEW IBERIA, LOUISIANA
WIDE VARIETY OF USES WITH WATER FRONTAGE
A progressive place with a great workforce where it’s easy to do business, Iberia Parish benefits from its strategic location between Houston and New Orleans on the Gulf Coast. With access to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico through its own Commercial Canal and access to the Mississippi River through major ports in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, the Port of Iberia offers 2,000 acres of industrial and manufacturing space. The Port of Iberia is a 3,500 acre industrial and manufactur-ing site surrounding a man-made port complex. As the future of oil and gas exploration in the U.S. shifts to the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the Port of Iberia and its vast skilled labor workforce is poised to expand its role as a national leader in top-side fabrication. More than 100 companies currently call the Port of Iberia home, with some 5,000 employees and an annual payroll in excess of $330 mil-lion dollars, which generates 1.4 billion dollars in economic impact for Iberia Parish.
The Property is located along the waterfront within in the Port of Iberia and is suitable for a wide range of manufacturing uses. The site has approximately 2,050 feet of bulk heading along the Rodere Canal, which provides access to the lntercoastal Waterway approximately 8 miles to the south. PORT OF IBERIA TENANT MAP
PORT OF IBERIAThe Port of Iberia is a 3,500 acre industrial and manufacturing site surrounding a man-made port complex. The port has access to the Gulf Intra-coastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico through its own Commercial Canal and has access to the Mississippi River through major ports in Ba-ton Rouge and New Orleans. Home to over 100 companies with over 5,000 employees involved in oil and gas fabrication and production, materials handling, and marine services, the Port of Iberia’s productive workforce is known worldwide.
The port also features true intermodal transportation: the fu-ture corridor of Interstate 49 is less than one mile away, the L&D railroad is on-site, the AGMAC channel will provide direct unimpeded access to the Gulf and the Acadiana Regional Air-port’s 8,000 foot fully-instrumented concrete runway is within three miles
The Port of Iberia itself has expanded its waterfront property and completed new bulkheading and dredging projects. Fur-thermore, with work completed on the 53-mile Acadiana Gulf of Mexico Access Channel, the Port of Iberia is well-positioned geographically and strategically to cater to the 10 to 12,000 ton market that will dominate exploration past 500 meters. “The port connects the dots to prosperity for the people in this area more than any other industry,” says Executive Director Craig Romero. More than 100 companies at the port have a combined annual payroll of $330 million, and the possibilities are unlimited when considering existing industrial facilities, the constant flow of raw materials and a multi-million dollar public dock facility.
PORT OF IBERIA GROWTH AND EXPANSION Dynamic Industries, Inc., a leading fabrication and service provider to the global oil, gas and energy industries, was recently awarded a contract to supply fabricated and assembled pipe rack modules for Sasol’s ethane cracker and derivatives complex near Lake Charles. Dynamic Industries also received a fabrication contract for a significant deep water project from one of the world’s largest energy companies. Dynamic’s scope will include the fabrication of a number of modules for a deep water platform and various other packages over the next 24 months in support of this world-class deep water discovery in the Gulf of Mexico. These contracts will significantly increase local job opportunities. Employment for these two projects will peak at 500 during the next two years.
Logan Industries chose the Port of Iberia to ex-pand their business be-cause of its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. Logan provides a wide range of products and services to the oil & gas construction, drilling, production and sup-port/diving industries worldwide. According to Patrick Vilyus, Busi-ness Development, their company has adapted to the change in the industry by spe-cializing in deep water interventions and pro-duction. He said they will store its equipment
in a 30,000 square foot facility on 10.6 acres. Logan generated 150 jobs in Hempstead, Texas where they are based. Their goal is to rep-licate what they have in Hempstead at the Port of Iberia location and generate approximately 300 jobs, in addition to the construction jobs to build the facility. Logan Industries is a member of Doedjins Group International.
The Bayou Companies has begun construction on a $14 million expan-sion at the Port of Iberia. The 56,000 square foot pipe coating facility will provide anti-corrosion coating for deep water pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico. It can potentially generate approximately $500 million in revenue and a $39 million economic impact. The Bayou Companies have been located at the Port of Iberia since the late 1950s. Their long-standing commitment to the Port and Iberia Parish helped se-cure $1.5 million in TIF (Tax Increment Finance) funds for overall infra-structure improvements. David Taldo, Director of Operations for Bayou Companies said he hopes to rehire those who have lost their jobs in this downturn. New employees would be trained specifically for pipe coating. Construction should be completed by mid-2016. Iberia Parish Government was instrumental in deciding to earmark $1.5 million for The Bayou Companies’ expansion.
Ram Design has leased 18 acres at the Port of Iberia. The Port will invest $3 million for land improvements and construction of a facility. Ram Design, a consulting and inspection company is a leader in auto-mated internal high speed corrosion mapping to drilling and production risers.
