American-Marsh Pumps, one of the oldestpump lines in America, are pump productssteeped in heritage. Since 1873, the American-Marsh line of pumps has withstood the test oftime. During the last 140 years, over 100 vari-eties of pumps have been designed and built. From steam pumps to centrifugal pumps,American-Marsh pumps have been built tomeet the ever changing requirements of society.Over the last century through continuous prod-uct development, more American-Marsh mod-els have been retired than most other pumpmanufacturers have ever produced. Hundredsof thousands of pumps have been made, alldesigned for longevity, allowing many of themto continue servicing customers over 50 years. All of our pumps have three superior charac-
teristics; Design, Performance, and Durability. Our engineering department, which includes anin-house pattern shop, designs each pump sothat installation and maintenance is easy. Ourperformances are engineered to meet or beatthe competition in each category. For 140years, American-Marsh Pumps products have
140 Years of Pump Manufacturing
provided cost effective solutions by buildingpumps to last. Durability by design is always themost cost effective solution. From engineeringand design to final assembly, experienced peoplecontrol each step of the manufacturing processwith quality control inspections performed ateach step. All pumps shafts are heat straight-ened. All impellers are computer balanced.Pump testing is done in our new state of the arttest facility. All of these factors ensure youreceive consistent quality product every time.American-Marsh Pumps has provided quality
pump products for over 140 years. AtAmerican-Marsh Pumps, we know that long lifeand superior performance are the keys to satis-fied customers. By understanding your needs,we can design products that meet those needs. Our product family reflects years of customerinput, product upgrades, redesign and newproduct development, all focused on meetingand exceeding your expectations.
Casing: The SREM casing is constructed of hightensile cast iron or other specified material. It is ofthe volute type, carefully and accurately propor-tioned to permit smooth flow and to convert highvelocity energy of the fluid as it leaves the impellerinto pressure. Suction and discharge nozzles arecasted integral with the volute and are of 250 psidimensions. All SREM models feature a 250 psicase working pressure. The casing has cast integralfeet standard and the discharge port is of the ver-tical centerline type. Necessary vent and drainopenings are provided. The SOSM casing is con-structed of high tensile cast steel or other specifiedmaterial. It is of the volute type, carefully andaccurately proportioned to permit smooth flowand to convert high velocity energy of the fluid asit leaves the impeller into pressure. Suction anddischarge nozzles are flanged and are cast integralwith the volute. The casing has cast integral feetstandard and the discharge port is of the verticalcenterline type. The casing assembly fully meetsANSI B73.1 dimensional and performancerequirements. Necessary vent and drain openingscan be provided upon request.Impellers: The SREM impeller is of the end
suction type, casted in one piece of 304 stainlesssteel or other specified material. All impellers arehydraulically and dynamically balanced prior toassembly and all impellers have pump out vanes ora rear case wear ring standard on the back side ofthe impeller to reduce material from building upnear the inboard bearing. The SOSM impeller isof the reverse vane, end suction type, casted inone piece of cast steel or other specified material.Running clearances need to only be adjustedbetween the back of the impeller and the casingadapter. This design allows for repeatable factorytolerances. All impellers are hydraulically anddynamically balanced prior to assembly. Frontsemi-open impellers can be supplied upon request. All models meets the stringent performancerequirements of ANSI B73.1. American-MarshPumps also offers 4 Low-Flow models to meetdifficult low-flow/high-head process applications.
Casing Wear Rings: Standard SREM enclosedimpellers are designed with integral case wearrings accurately turned to provide close runningfits in the casing. The diameters of these rings aresuch as to reduce end thrust to a minimum. Onlarger models a rear case wear ring is provided foradditional wear resistance.Inboard Head: The SREM inboard head is con-
structed of cast iron or other specified material. The SOSM inboard head is constructed of caststeel or other specified material. The inboard headconnects the fluid end to the support pipe andcontains the inboard head bearing.Shaft: The shaft is of 416 stainless steel, pol-
ished and of large diameter to prevent vibration.Lineshaft bearings are spaced to minimize shaftdeflection. The shaft is supported by the thrustbearing housing, located at the surface plate, which has integral lateral adjustment.Support & Discharge Pipe: The support pipe is
of black iron, one end flanged to the inboardhead and the other end flanged to the sumpcover. Intermediate bearings will be flangedbetween multiple pieces of support column andspaced accordingly. The discharge pipe is flanged, one end connected to the discharge elbow andthe other to the system piping. This pipe connec-tion terminates three inches above the sump coverplate.Discharge Elbow: The discharge elbow is of
high tensile cast iron or of other specified materialand of the long radius type flanged to the dis-charge of the casing and to the discharge pipeassembly. Sump Cover: The sump cover is of carbon steel,
teardrop or of other shape as desired. The sumpcover supports the entire weight of the completepump assembly. Optional simplex and duplex soleplates are available with a four inch vent and amanhole cover designed to give access to thepumping assemblies.

American-Marsh Pumps standard product designincludes 416 stainless steel shafts designed for mini-mum shaft deflection in high temperature environ-ments. Each shaft is machined to close tolerancesand designed to exceed HP requirements of eachpump.
IMPELLER
Impellers are one piece 304 stain-less steel or other alloy expertlymachined to customer specifica-tions. Back pump out vanes or rearcase wear ring prohibit materialfrom building up behind impeller.
CASING
The casing is provided with additional thickness forcorrosion allowance. Surfaces are machined to accuratetolerances in our machining centers.
WEAR RINGS
Impeller and case wear rings are oversizedwith large wearing surfaces to extend the lifeof each pump. Rings are available in bronze, iron, stainless steel or other alloys as required.
