THANKSGIVING SHARING
Soon we will be celebrating Thanksgiving….giving Thanks to God for all his gifts
and sharing with family and friends. For many this is a difficult time, as some of our
fellow parishioners and community members are experiencing hardships due to life’s
unexpected turns. Please consider sharing…..
At the Thanksgiving Day 9:00 am mass you can bring your donations of non-
perishable items and place in boxes decorated by the St. William School students;
these boxes will be located around the altar rail. If you can help, here are some items
that we are in need of: soups, peanut butter, pasta and sauce, cereals, tuna, (any flip
top canned goods), paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste. We will
also accept gift cards/certificates to local stores; SuperLow, Walgreens, Jewel. Please also be mindful of the quality
of the items being donated and the expiration dates.
If you are unable to attend mass that day, St. VDP containers are always available at the all the entrances of the
church. Thank you for continual support of St. William Parish and the St. Vincent DePaul Society and your sharing
with others less fortunate.
ADVENT GIVING TREE
After all the masses on the weekend of December 2 & 3 please stop at the back of church by the Giving Tree and
take an ornament off the tree, fill out the sign-up sheet and purchase the gift noted. These gifts you purchase will be
for the Women’s Center Baby Closet and our very own St. Vincent DePaul Society. Please return the gifts to the
back of church under the tree by December 10th. Display Christ’s light in you to others!
THE WOMEN’S CENTER WREATH SALE
The Women’s Center is holding their annual Christmas Wreath Sale after all the masses on the
weekend of November 25 & 26. Fragrant wreaths and centerpieces will be available. Prices
range from $5 to $40. Proceeds from the sale help support the work of the Women’s Center of
Greater Chicagoland. Through your generosity, teens and young women are provided counseling,
social service referrals and material goods assistance who are faced with a crisis pregnancy.

LIVE THE LITURGY
Are we ready and prepared for what life will ask of us? The answers to life's challenges, especially those that involve purpose, meaning, and happiness are not found in material things or by searching the Internet. Many things in life require a journey of the heart and the acquisition of wisdom. When one acquires wisdom, one acquires priceless wealth. Sadly, pursuing wisdom is not valued by our world these days. Examining our lives, pondering the bigger questions, reflecting on where we have been and where we are going, are invaluable exercises that not only bring us wisdom but open our eyes to God's presence. Those who seek wisdom shall not be disappointed and will always be ready for whatever comes their way.
