Series 404 and 2404 tractors are availablewith LP-Gas equipment manufactured byEnsign. Carburetor is a model Mg 1 andregulator is a model W. As with otherLP-Gas systems, these systems are designedto operate with the fuel tank no more than80% filled. It is important when startingthese tractors, to open the vapor valve onthe supply tank slowly; if opened too last,the fuel supply to the regulator will beautomatically shut off.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting fuellines or removing any of the systemcomponents, close both fuel tank with-drawal valves and run engine untilall fuel is exhausted from the fuellines and components and enginestops.

LP.GAS SYSTEMADJUST SYSTEM

Series 404-240447. The LP-Gas system has four ad-

justments; three are located on thecarburetor and one on the regulator.Adjustments located on the carburetorare main fuel (load) adjustment, start-ing fuel adjustment and the throttleidle stop screw. The idle mixture ad-justing screw is located on top side ofregulator.

The adjustments are pre-set at thefactory and normally do not need re-adjustment; however, if adjustmentshave been disturbed, or any of thecomponents serviced, readjust systemas follows: Loosen lock nuts on start-ing fuel adjustment and main fuel ad-justment on carburetor. Turn both ofthese adjustment screws and the idle

mixture adjusting screw on the regu-lator all the way in; then make thefollowing initial adjustments. Startingadjustment screw IVA turns open. Mainfuel adjustment screw IVz turns open.Idle mixture adjustment screw (onregulator) l^t turns open. Start en-gine and bring to operating tempera-ture, then place throttle control leverin low idle position. Adjust throttlestop screw to obtain an engine lowidle speed of approximately 425 rpm,then turn the idle mixture needle onthe regulator in or out as required toobtain the highest and smoothest en-gine operation. Readjust throttle stopscrew, if necessary. Place hand throt-tle in the high idle position and turnthe main fuel (load) adjustment screwin or out as required until the smooth-est engine (deration is obtained.
