PURPOSE OF THE PARTNERSHIP Thispartnershipproposesbothashortandlongtermstrategydesignedtodevelop,strengthen,andgrowourcommunity.Thekeyfocusistoimprovetransitionsforyoungpeoplefromeducationtoemploymentandinsodoingimprove:youngpeople’sworkreadiness;businessesreadinessforyoungpeople(includingthosefromculturaldiversity);theongoingsupplylineofskilledlabourforlocalbusinesses;andthesubsequentreductioninsocialcostsassociatedwithdependencyandpoverty.Thekeyoutcomesexpectedfromthispartnershipinclude:

1. 2. LICENCETOWORK(L2W)PROGRAMMEOVERVIEWBackground1.1. Thisprojectisalearningandaction-basedcollaborativeprogrammecreatedtosupportyoungpeople
to build the employability skills they need to gain employment, remain in employment and besuccessful in their chosen occupations,which in turnwill benefit themselves, theworkforce, thecommunityandthelocaleconomy.

1.2. Theprogrammeisacrosssector,business-ledinitiative,designedtorespondtobusinessconcernsthatyouthmaynotbedevelopingthesoftskillsneededtosucceedintheworkplace.
1.3. The programme incorporates an explicit and intentional sequence of learning activities to build
competenciesbusinesseswanttoseeinyoungpeople,andaprocesstoassessandrecordthem.Itispracticalandhands-onallowingyoungpeopletomaketheirownchoicesanddecisions,andtobeactivelyinvolvedintheirownupskilling.
1.4. Theprogrammebuildsonlocalstrengthsandresources,isevidencebased,culturallyinclusiveand
collaborativeinnature.1.5. Theprogrammeconsistsof:20hoursoftuitioninthesevenL2Wcompetencies;20hoursofvolunteer
work;and60hoursofworkexperience.Thesevencompetenciesaretaught,applied,andassessedthrough-outtheentire100hoursoftheprogramme.
MeasuresofSuccess1.6. Employabilityofyoungpeoplearemeasuredagainstsevencoreindicators.Theseskillsaredeveloped
and assessed in schools, youth training facilities, volunteer and work experience placements.Businesses,schools,tertiarywillberequiredtodiscussinanongoingmannerandregularlyassessthefollowingEmployabilitySkills:

D.7. ExceptasoutlinedinthisMOU,neitherpartytothisMOUwillusetheother’sname,logo,or the fact that there is a relationship between the parties for advertising or otherpromotionalpurposeswithoutfirstobtainingtheotherparty’sconsentinwriting.
E. DISPUTERESOLUTION
I.1. All partners are committed to addressing any issues that may arise by communicatinghonestlywitheachotheratanearlystage.Neitherpartnerwillpubliclycriticiseanyotherpartner without first discussing the issues and concerns in good faith and providing anopportunitytoresolvetheissues.
I.2. Intheeventthatadisputecannotberesolvedbyopencommunicationandnegotiation,thepartners will arrange mediation. Both partners agree to abide by the decision of themediator.
F. DURATIONOFTHISAGREEMENT
I.1. Thispartnershipcomesintoforceonsigningbybothpartiesandshallcontinueuntil
December31,2017.
G. VARIATION
I.1. Itisexpectedthatthisagreementwillevolveovertimeastheprojectdevelops.ThisMOUmaybevariedorextendedbyagreementinwritingbybothpartners.TheMOUwillbereviewedannuallyormorefrequentlyifrequiredtosupportplanningforsustainability,asmutuallyagreedbybothpartners.
H. TERMINATION
I.1. Thispartnershipmaybeterminatedbythemutualagreementofbothparties.
I.2. Either party may, by notice in writing, terminate the arrangements contained in thispartnershipiftheotherpartyisinbreachofanyterm,conditionorprovisioncontainedinthis partnership and fails to remedy the samewithin fourteendays afterwrittennoticebeingreceivedofsuchbreach.
