STEELERS HISTORYRECORDS
THE STEELERS have held their annual training camp at several locations throughout club history before settling on their current camp home at Saint Vincent College. The 2016 season marks the 51st consecutive year that the Steelers have held their preseason training camp in Latrobe, Pa. The Steelers’ 51-year tenure at Saint Vincent College ranks second (tied with Minnesota) in the NFL for training camp longevity, trailing only the Green Bay Packers, who have held their preseason camp at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisc., for 59 years. The final two weeks of the Steelers’ 1966 training camp were held at Saint Vincent College after beginning camp at the University of Rhode Island.
The Steelers first full camp at Saint Vincent College took place in 1967.
The following is a complete list of places where
the Pittsburgh Steelers have held their training

HEINZ KETCHUP Bottles Facts: The bottles are exact replicas—down to the embossed “57” on the bottle’s neck—of the Heinz Ketchup 14 ounce glass bottle. Each bottle includes 8,000 pounds of fiberglass, 375 feet of neon tubing and 20,500 light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Each Heinz Ketchup Bottle measures 35 feet X 9 feet and each weighs 8,000 pounds, both totaling 16,000 pounds, the equivalent of 53—300 pound NFL linemen. If the Heinz Ketchup bottles were filled with Heinz Ketchup, they would contain 1,664,000 fluid ounces each. That is enough to give each person seated at Heinz Field at least one 14-ounce bottle of ketchup to take home. If both bottles were emptied, the entire football field would be covered in 3/4 of an inch of ketchup. Approximately 4,500 footballs could fit into each scoreboard ketchup bottle.

UPMC Rooney Sports Complex Practice Field Access
Credentialed print and electronic media are allowed to watch Steelers practices in their entirety. All media must be at field level. Media are prohibited from watch-ing practice from the hillside without prior approval from the team’s media relations department. Videotaping any portion of practice from the hillside or other remote locations is strictly prohibited. All access guidelines will be explained to media upon arrival.
All photographers (still and video) are allowed to tape warm-ups and individual position drills. Photographers are prohibited from taping any one-on-one or team drills, including 7-on-7 drills or anytime players are in a team formation. All photographers are prohibited from any use of their cameras anywhere on Saint Vincent’s campus other than the designated spots on the practice fields and outside of the cafeteria.
Media are allowed to tape stand-ups during the desig-nated periods when video cameras may shoot practice, any other exceptions must be cleared through Steelers’ media relations.
Media are prohibited from interacting with players and coaches during practice.
In the event of inclement weather, the team may be forced to practice indoors. Media may be allowed to attend indoor practices (at the team’s discretion), but access will be limited.
Media are asked to silence cell phones and pagers before entering the practice area.
The Steelers reserve the right to change their access policy without prior notice.
IN SEASON/OFF-SEASON
UPMC Rooney Sports Complex
All Steelers daily football operations take place at the team’s headquarters at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex and not at Heinz Field. Coaches and players are at Heinz Field only on game days.
All media visiting Steelers headquarters must sign in at the front desk upon arrival and receive a day badge. Badges must be worn at all times.
All media must remain in the team’s media workroom while at the team’s headquarters. The team’s first and second floor lobby areas are not to be used for work-space or to conduct interviews.
Media are to access the practice fields from the first floor only.
Media setting up for sit-down interviews must be chaperoned to designated areas by Steelers’ media relations.
Coaching offices and team meeting rooms are off limits to media. Interviews and any videotaping in the Steelers parking lot are prohibited. The team requires all interviews at the team’s headquarters only be conducted in the team’s locker room and other areas specifically designated by the team’s media relations department.
While we understand the importance of breaking news, our expectation is that all media that cover the team will respect club policies that close walk-thru’s and offseason workouts to the media, and that media will not resort to alternate means of recording those sessions even from a remote location. Media that continue to violate this request may have their access to the team’s practice facility or on game days subject to review.
Press conferences, media availabilities, open practice sessions and other Steelers activities at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex or Heinz Field may not be broadcast live by an individual or media outlet. This includes the use of social media applications such as Ustream, Periscope and Meerkat, among others.UPMC Rooney Sports Complex Camera Credential Policy
The Pittsburgh Steelers require all visiting media who intend to use any type of electronic recording device to comply with the following policies when covering the team at club practices or events. The policies govern the online use of audio and video interviews and press conference content on non-game days and weekdays. These rules are designed to enable news organization websites to “illustrate” their coverage of the NFL with daily audio/video sound bites that supplement and complement the work of their report-ers and columnists:• All media members are required to wear creden-
tials when on-site covering the Steelers at team headquarters.
• Camera operators may shoot video and still photos only in designated areas at the Steelers headquar-ters. These areas include and are limited to the prac-tice field, locker room, media workroom and areas designated by the club’s media relations department only. Still photographers do not have access to the locker room.
• Up to 90 seconds per day of audio and/or video of interviews or press conferences with NFL employees (including, but not limited to, players and coaches) or of team practice footage may be used on the Inter-net by credentialed news organizations. The content may not be used live and may be archived for no more than 24 hours. This applies to both game days and non-game days.

Art Rooney Scholarship Fund
The Art Rooney Scholarship Fund, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Promise, annually provides college scholarships for three graduating seniors at high schools located on Pittsburgh’s North Side, where Art Rooney Sr. himself spent most of his life. The annual Gatorade/Steelers 5K Race, Fitness Walk and Kids’ Kickoff Run is the major fundraiser for the scholarship fund. The event features a 3.1-mile level course on the North Side highlighted by a spectacular finish in Heinz Field.
Breast Cancer Awareness
The Steelers participate in numerous breast cancer awareness initiatives each year, including the NFL’s “A Crucial Catch” for Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, player hospital visits and special pink-logoed merchandise sales.
At the breast cancer awareness game in October, the team recognizes local breast cancer survivors in a pregame ceremony. Pink Terrible Towels are distrib-uted to all fans at the game in partnership with UPMC and Ford. In addition, proceeds from the sale of pink Steelers merchandise are donated to breast cancer charities. Many Steelers players wear pink uniform items to bring more awareness to this important cause.
As part of the Steelers’ breast cancer awareness activities, players who have a loved one affected by the disease serve as chefs at the “Cooking and Eating for a Healthy Life” class at Magee Women’s Hospital of UPMC. In attendance are breast cancer survivors who enjoy the players’ efforts in the kitchen.
Members of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority distribute breast cancer information outside Heinz Field before the breast cancer awareness game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are proud to be a part of the Western Pennsylvania community. The organization’s strong commitment to this area dates back to 1933 when Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. founded the team. Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney and President Art Rooney II are known as two of the most active NFL owners and are some of Pittsburgh’s most involved executives in civic affairs. Steelers players, coaches and front office staff are involved in appearances, charitable donations and outreach programs with nonprofit and community groups. It’s our way of giving back to the community that has given us so much!
