1- Introduction
• Economic Census was conducted in 2011• It is the first Census in the history of Cambodia

To provide the fundamental statistics on the current status of the business activities of the establishment and enterprises.
To provide the directories of the establishments and enterprises as the master sampling frame of various sample survey on businesses.

2- Purpose of the Census

All kind of establishments are included in the Census Industrial Classification: ISIC Rev. 4 Establishments classified below sections are excluded:
1- Section A: Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing2- Section O: Public administration and defense, compulsory social security3- Section T: Activities of households as employers; undifferentiated goods and services-producing activities of households for own use.4- Section U: Activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies.

The Establishment can be defined as an economic unit that engages, under a single ownership or control, in one or predominantly one, kind of economic activity at a single physical location (followed UN).

6-Method of Enumeration
3) In case that the enumeration does not finish due to the refusal of establishment until the end of March 2011, “Special Survey Team” carried out the enumeration.
1) The enumerator visits each establishment within a certain enumeration area, interviews the owner or manager of the establishment or his/her substitute who is entitled to represent the establishment, and fill in the Census Form.
2) In addition to this, the self-enumeration method can be applied to the establishment, which requests to fill in the form by themselves.
