The aim of our project is to know more about the museums, art
galleries and artists of Great Britain and Russia and to tell other
people about them.

This museum is so special! It is so unique! Its devoted to an
unreal person! Here you step back a hundred years in time. The
atmosphere of this quiet house is electric. You feel as if the
great detective has just left the room for a moment with Dr.
Watson. Mrs. Hudson is somewhere in the backrooms and you'll see
her entering the room with a tray of teacups. Sherlock Holmes. the
famous detective Wed like to welcome you all here at one of the

Everything in the museum reminds us of the stories we know so
well. It is filled with things which Holmes and Watson would have
had Holmess violin, his deerstalker and pipe, the Persian slipper
in which he kept his tobacco, unanswered letters pinned to the wall
with a knife, his magnifying glass.

the collection of butterflies and the coil bucket where he kept
cigars and old pipes. You can see the Victoria Reginas monogram
shot by Sherlock Holmes,
Slide 8
The Sherlock Holmes' Museum is unlike other museums. Very few
things are locked up in glass cases. You can sit in Holmes' s
armchair by the fireplace, you can examine his property items and
put on his deerstalker. But, please, bring your own pipe to
smoke!
Slide 9
The museum has a collection of waxworks of characters mentioned
in the stories about Sherlock Holmes. It is situated on the 4-th
floor.
Slide 10
There are a lot of unforgettable films were made after Conan
Doyle's books. There the main characters found themselves in some
very difficult and dangerous situations. Though some films were
made many years ago, the stories havent lost any of their mystery
and magic. The best performer of a famous detectives role even
among the Englishmen is called a Russian actor Vasiliy Livanov.
Elizabeth Regina II has bestowed him a title of a Member of the
Order of the British Empire.
Slide 11
This museum was opened in 1990 at 221b Baker Street and people
have been writing their letters from all the countries of the world
and especially from the USA and ask if Mr. Holmes can help them
with some problems, such as finding a missing relative (or a pet).
They greet Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson with Christmas and their
birthdays. The museum opens its doors every day of the year from
9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The tickets for adults cost 8 and for children
under 16 years old 5.
