Lawn. Following a safety briefing and outfitting,

guests will embark on a journey they will never

forget. Families can “travel” together or join up with

other participants in a larger group. Each guided tour

accommodates up to 10 guests. Group programs with

more than 10 people can be accommodated. Solo

and couple tours with an expanded narrative of the

surrounding eco system and wildlife are also offered.

Salamander® Tree Top Zip Tour is an exhilarating

adventure, a thrilling bird’s eye view of the Virginia

countryside carefully designed to work harmoniously

and respectfully with its surrounding environment.

The course is comprised of a series of suspended

bridges and zip lines that vary in length from 90 to

670 feet. While safely tethered to an advanced

pulley system, participants will glide from tree top

platform to tree top platform on 5 different zip lines

and 2 suspension sky bridges. The course spans over

20 acres and is over a half mile long.

PACKAGES & BUNDLESTree Top Zip TourSoar through the tree tops on an interconnected series of zip lines and bridges! Perfect for families, friends, groups and team building. Minimum age is 8 years and required weight range is 70 – 250lbs. Private tours are available for an additional $75 per person. 1.5 – 2 hours, $164 per person, 9:30am, 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 3:30pm and 5pm.

Kiddo Zip LiningKids under the minimums for the Tree Top Zip Tour can try this thrilling ride. With an Empower guide, zip line our 200’ zip line 3 times! Minimum age is 4 years old and minimum weight is 40lbs. For children only. $50++ per child. Times are flexible but reservations are required. Rappelling Descend a vertical surface commando style! 1 hour required. $105 per person. 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm Survival 101Learn the basics of survival and have fun doing it! Empower guides will teach and guide you through various survival tasks. 1 – 1.5 hours, $170 per person Personal Leadership Odyssey This customized 4-hour adventure is for adults looking for a special, individualized adventure training session utilizing the entire Empower Adventure facility. $329 per person.

Zip & Sip Great for groups! Following the Tree Top Zip Tour, Empower will provide celebratory beverages for your group debrief upon conclusion of your experience. Choose from an assortment of beer, wine and house-made seasonal beverages. $189 per person.

Digital Photos Empower captures photos throughout your entire adventure. These photos are available for purchase prior to your adventure tour for a discounted rate of $8 per person per reservation. If purchased following your adventure they are $12 per person per reservation.

How long does it take to complete the Tree Top Zip Tour? Tree Top Zip Tour plus Rappelling/Survival 101 Adventures? Plan to spend 2 hours with us. The Tree Top Zip Tour is approximately 1.5 hours in length plus additional time for check in, orientation, training, etc. The Plus Adventure programs take 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.

What if I am afraid of heights? It is not uncommon to have a fear of heights. Many people who have a fear of heights are still able to enjoy the Tree Top Zip Tour. You will be safely secured to our steel cable at all times when you are off the ground. Our professional guides are thoroughly trained in canopy course procedures, and will be with you throughout the entire course to answer all your questions and provide support.

How high will I be off the ground?During the tree top canopy tour you will be anywhere from 30 to 55 feet off the ground.

How safe is it?All adventure activities done above the ground carry certain inherent risks. We have taken numerous steps to mitigate these risks. Our course was built to exceed ACCT professional building standards. Our guides are professionally trained and our equipment is very high quality. The course and equipment are inspected daily.

How long is the zip line course?The course spans 20 acres, consisting of 5 zip lines ranging from 275 to 670 feet in length and 2 suspension sky bridges that are 75 and 90 feet.

How can I pay? What if I don’t want to pay by credit card?Payment in full is required at the time of reservation and may be paid with cash, check or credit card. Resort guests may charge all Empower activities to their room account. Deposit and balance due arrangements for group programming will be included in the groups contract paperwork.

How much should I tip my guides?Our guides are professionally trained to ensure that you have an educational, enjoyable, and memorable experience. The tipping guideline is 10 – 15% of your purchase per guide. Tips are not automatically included in your price.

Do you offer group discounts? Yes – please contact the Empower office for group rates at 540-692-ZIP1.

Do you offer military or senior discounts?Yes, our company president is also a veteran and is pleased to offer a 5% discount to all those who have served our country or are currently serving in the military as well as all first responders. We also offer seniors (65 years or older) a 5% discount. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Empower Adventures at 540-692-9471 or by emailing office@empoweradventures.com. Proper ID is required when you check in for your tour or the discount will not apply.

Is there a concession stand for drinks, food, etc.?No but the Gold Cup Wine Bar and Harrimans Piedmont Grill inside the resort are open to the public and offer a wide variety of food and beverages. Water will be available at the Tree Top Zip Tour.
