At Zieta Prozessdesign new ideas search their intelligent forms - bionic, easily customized, uniquely processed, more efficient - that go beyond today’s understanding of form and construction and contri- bute to the shapes of the future. FiDU - the technology of the future Individualized shapes: FiDU stands for Freie Innen Druck Umformung - the Internal Pressure Forming - which implies inflating two steel sheets welded around their edges into a 3d object. It takes only two thin steel sheets to create a compli- cated and very durable 3d object from steel in FiDU. FiDU allows to create innovative, customized, individualized bionic shapes and fully recyclable objects using very efficient mass production processes and individualized shaping methods. It is the most flexible tool -less metal forming way ever. Ultra light constructions: FiDU technology can be applied to form new design shapes but also as an ultra-light construction of great weight-capacity for design and architectural elements. Payload for construction elements made in FiDU is up to 1:10 which means that a 100kg-heavy construction could carry a load of about 1t. 3+ TECHNOLOGY3+ is innovative technology for stabilising sheet-metal, in the form of our furniture collection 3+. It’s a modular solution reflecting today’s nomadic and mobile lifestyle. Thanks to set of connectors every stabilizing perforation can be used as starting point for creating a new construction. 3+ is always current, and ready to answer the require-ments of change.
Our historySince 2003 Oskar Zieta has been working as a research associate and a teaching assistant at the chair of CAAD at the ETH in Zurich where he is writing his doctor thesis under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ludger Ho-vestadt. Main focus of his thesis is the input of computer-controlled ma-chines in processing of metal sheets in the architecture and design.
During his research at the ETH, Oskar Zieta has developed different methods of enhancing efficiency of technology for steel design, archi-tecture and construction. The main topic was the use of steel sheets as a construction element – cheap, easy to shapeand efficient. The problem with steel sheets is stability – the work was focused on how to reach the desired stability of steel sheets to be able to use them as construction elements. Many different technologies were developed - among others, FIDU technology.
In 2008 Oskar Zieta introduced to the market his PLOPP-stool as well as a limited edition of the chair Chip-pensteel and in 2009 he developed the whole ZIETA collection. Oskar Zieta has been awarded the AUDI-Mentor-Price 2011, the Red Dot Award 2008, DMY Award for Inno-vation in production process 2008, the YDMI 2008, the German Design Council Prize 2009, the Forum Aid Awards 2009, technology Award - Materialica 2009, MUST HAVE DesignŁódz 2011 and was nominated to the “Schweizer Design Preis” 2009 and the “Dobry Wzór” 2009. His products are being sold around the world and permanently exhibited, among others, in Centre Pompidou in Paris, Pinakothek der Moderne München, Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich and Badisches Landesmuse-um Karlsruhe.
In October 2014, during the Lodz Design Festival was the premiere of wooden collection PAKIET. The name of the series comes from the method of assembling these products; at the beginning we receive a package of wooden elements to be connected with steel staples. The simplicity and speed of the assembling allows to use the products at various exhibitions and exposure. PAKIET is a reusable system – it can be folded and unfol-ded as many times as you need. Ad-ditionally, it is very easy to transport thanks to its modular design.
