Zeta Tau Alpha: The Ultimate College

Experience

Page 2: Zeta presentation

10 things Zeta Tau Alpha has

taught me:

Page 3: Zeta presentation

1. Family does not necessarily mean relatives, but is something much deeper than that. Family is when you have unconditional love and care for one another.

Page 4: Zeta presentation

2. I have learned to take a step back and to not over react in situations as they will seem less severe after time passes

Page 5: Zeta presentation

3. I have the ability to learn new things and if I allow them to, they can change my life for the better.

Page 6: Zeta presentation

4. I have learned to respect those within and without my circle and to always give people equal opportunities in life without judgment.

Page 7: Zeta presentation

5. In order to learn the nobility of serving, I must first learn to serve

and dedicate my time to philanthropy and serving those in need.

Page 8: Zeta presentation

6. I have learned to let go of my competitive edge and to be humble in success and without bitterness in defeat in all competitions and challenges as there are bigger things in life than winning.

Page 9: Zeta presentation

7. I have learned to keep the Fraternity at heart and to act in a way that represents this organization in a positive light while bettering myself as a person along the way.

Page 10: Zeta presentation

8. I understand that I may not be perfect, but it is important that I always try to be good and true in my thoughts and actions.

Page 11: Zeta presentation

9. I have learned that love is the greatest of all things and it is amazing to love and be loved in return by such wonderful people.

Page 12: Zeta presentation

10. There is nothing better in life than to be surrounded by such unconditional love and

support from so many amazing people.

To my future daughter…

Page 14: Zeta presentation

Dear baby girl,Even though I have no idea who you are at this point in time, I already know

that I will love you so much. My hope is that you are healthy and happy throughout life and that you follow in mine and your aunt’s footsteps. I hope that you become a Zeta Tau

Alpha! You are a double legacy and that is one of the most important things you will need to remember as you begin the recruitment process at the college you choose to

attend. You are already my daughter, but becoming my sister by pledging by Fraternity will make us closer than you could ever imagine. We will then share secrets and

information that I was not allowed to share with you before. If you choose to become a Zeta, I promise that you will not regret it as it has shaped me into I am today and I

wouldn’t trade it for the world. You will embark on a sisterhood that will never let you down and will be there for you until the very end of time. I know that the other sororities will sell their stories and some may catch your attention, but I just want you to know that being a legacy is a bigger deal than you can understand right now. Just trust me as your

mom and believe that you will understand soon enough. Choosing another sorority would not only be hurtful to me, but will mess up the definition of sisterhood. Everything I learned in my collegiate years in Zeta Tau Alpha has taught me that about life and how to become a good person, and I want you to have an equal experience. College would not have been as amazing as it was without my sisters and I want you to see this world from

the inside. I know none of this will make sense to you yet since you are just beginning this process, but just trust me that you will not regret this decision. I can’t wait to watch you grow and be able to share secrets with you little by little. I love you baby girl and I

can’t wait to meet you. Love, Stevie (“mom”)

You should be a Zeta,If you know what’s good for you.

You should be a Zeta,And wear the turquoise blue.

Crowns, strawberries and ladybugs

Are Zetas symbols today. You should be a Zeta, And listen to what I say.

Zeta is the best you’ll see,Just go Zeta and you will agree.

You should be a Zeta,There is no other way.You should be a Zeta,

And forever a Zeta you’ll stay.

Why you should be a

Zeta…

Zeta Tau Alpha’s Philanthropy:

Breast Cancer Education and

Awareness

Page 18: Zeta presentation
Page 19: Zeta presentation

Zeta Tau Alpha has given me the opportunity to learn the nobility of serving through our

philanthropy. Breast cancer education and awareness has become a huge part of my life

and it will forever be close to my heart. With this philanthropy I have been able to raise funds for

research, help women in financial need, and learn more about the cause through education. I have

strived to help girls understand the significance of early detection and hope to help saves future

lives as well.

Page 20: Zeta presentation

One in every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in my

lifetime, and I am sure some of those women will be the girls I have stood beside

at philanthropy events in my years as a Zeta. When it comes time to deal with

these situations I want to be prepared and know that I have generations following in

my footsteps that will continue making this cause a success.

Zeta Tau Alpha is working for something much bigger than itself for a greater

good and I am so proud to be apart of that. I will forever be involved in

philanthropy and am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn the

importance of serving. I have become a better person and now have seen life

from the perspectives of others and can now understand the importance of

helping others in need.

My name is Stevie Phillips and I am a student at UNCC where I study

Elementary Education. I have been in school for four years, but have taken on

an extra year in school! I love college and wanted to share my experience with others through the eyes of a sorority girl.

I wrote this book to show others my college experience and give a small look

at the positive aspects of Greek life. I wrote this book for my friends and family

and I hope they enjoy it!
