— Philippians 3:8

*HYMN OF PRAISE …………………………………………………………..…………. No. 295 “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” … Robinson-Wyeth

*GREETINGS AND EXCHANGE OF CHRIST’S PEACE

*CHORUS — “Ancient Words” Holy words, long preserved for our walk in this world, They resound with God’s own heart; O let the ancient words impart. Words of life, words of hope, give us strength, help us cope; Came to us through sacrifice; O heed the faithful words of Christ. Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you; We have come with open hearts, O let the ancient words impart.

OFFERTORY — “That Wonderful Name” ………………………………... arr. Lutes The Youth Handbell Choir

Paul’s appeal to the Philippians is more than an appeal to live in unity in a given situation; it is an appeal to live a life which will lead to the salvation of God in time and in eternity. Paul says, “Don’t stop halfway; go on until the work of Christ in salvation is fully wrought out in you.” No Christian should be satisfied with anything less than the total benefits of the gospel.

— William Barclay

ADULT MISSION TRIP INTEREST MEETING

There will be a meeting in the Parlor on Sunday, February 9 at 4:00 p.m. to determine the interest and possibility of a mission trip for adults. The potential mission trip would take place in North Charleston, SC during September 19-26, 2020. Metanoia is an organization in North Charleston that was started by two CBF-appointed urban missionaries. Their mission is to build leaders, establish quality housing and generate economic develop-ment in an area of North Charleston that otherwise is declining in those three areas. It will be Zebulon Baptist Church’s mission to help Metanoia with light construction projects and neighborhood beautification during our week there. Prayerfully consider your interest and join us for the meeting on February 9th. If you have any questions before then, please see Shannon Speller.

CBF ON-LINE SURVEY “TOWARD BOLD FAITHFULNESS”

The new leader of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Dr. Paul Baxley, has called us to envision a new day for the Fellowship called, “Toward Bold Faithfulness.” To initiate the process of discovery followed by implementation, he wants to hear from CBF Baptists. By February 2nd all CBF Baptists are encouraged to fill out a survey. Today is the last day to take the survey and let it count toward our church total. Access this survey at www.cbf.net/survey. If you take the survey you will be asked to give your name and your church. If at least 50 members of ZBC respond and take this survey, we will receive a copy of the combined results of the survey taken by our people. Your responses will be anonymous in the report sent back to us. But the information could prove very helpful for our own church leaders to help with our relationship with CBF based on your thoughts and preferences. Please pray for the diverse team from across the Fellowship that is co-ordinating the “Toward Bold Faithfulness” initiative. And please help them and also our congregation by going on line this week to fill out the survey at the above link. The Fellowship will be meeting at General Assembly June 22-26 in Atlanta, Georgia, and you will hear insights from the survey there and participate in small group conversations about the future of our work together in CBF.
