Approximately 45 international architects from around the world have presented their vision of theexhibition site for the world expo 2017 exhibition in astana, kazakhstan. with the theme closely relatedto a ‘green economy’, architects including zaha hadid, coop himmelb(l)au, UNStudio, snohetta and jmayer h, each taking into account ‘the possibility of using alternative energy sources and theautonomous water and heat provision in each of the construction’, says nursultan nazarbayev, thepresident of kazakhstan. the theme is aimed to concentrate on both the future of energy, but also oninnovative, practical energy solutions and their global impact. expo-2017 will be the first time that amajor international exhibition of this kind is coming to a country from the former soviet union. more than100 countries and 10 international organizations are expected to participate. around 2-3 million peopleare expected to visit the international pavilions from june to september 2017.
