Young Social Innovators (YSI) believes that young people are a powerful and largely untapped force for change in their local communities and in wider society.
Each year, thousands of young people are supported to explore social issues that concern them and come up with innovative responses.
They work in teams to identify a social issue that they will tackle through their project. This could be a local, national or international issue.
Issues like LGBT rights (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender)
The environment
Human trafficking
Poverty and homelessness
Internet safety and cyberbullying
And many more besides
They are helped on their journey by their YSI Guide (teacher) trained and resourced by Young Social Innovators.
Not only do they come up with innovative ideas
They put them into practice and take ACTION!
They speak out(click to see images from past YSI Speak Out events)
Not only at YSI events but through the media and using online tools
And when all the hard work is done… they celebrate!(click to watch YSI Showcase highlights)
