• Jordan tells how an evening of drinking alcohol led to a sequence of events that changed his life.

At the time, he set out just wanting to have a good time, but after his experience with alcohol, his attitude to drinking has changed significantly

take? Irritates the stomach which then causes it to discharge it’s contents – vomits.

11. Why is this dangerous if someone has consumed large amounts of alcohol? Disrupts the gag reflex triggered in the throat. which enables vomit to enter and clogs the airways. This leads to choking and potential death.

12. What should Jordan’s friends have done? Not have laid him on his back – put him in recovery position, kept him awake and stayed with him. Phone 999 or find a responsible adult to help.

13. Why does your body have a hangover after alcohol consumption? Alcohol is a diuretic which leads dehydration as sweat and wee more. Makes the body thirsty and weak. Increases heart rate. Headache due to blood vessels opening to the brain and increasing pressure

14. How did Jordon feel about his experience? Humiliated. Could have died. Not fun15. How many alcohol related deaths are expected to occur this week amongst young
