� Questions will test your knowledge and understanding of topics as well as specific Geographical skills like map/photo interpretation, graph drawing and interpretation.

�  You should also familiarise yourself with the many key words that have been introduced for each topic.

What should you know?

�  Ecosystems: �  Know he distribution of an ecosystem you have

studied, e.g. tropical rainforests. The characteristics of the ecosystem, i.e. climate, vegetation, animals.

�  Exploitation of the ecosystem’s resources. �  Sustainability �  Be able to draw a climate graph. �  Tourism: �  The nature of tourism. The characteristics of tourist

locations, e.g. climate, beaches, facilities available. National Parks in the UK and their conflicts.

�  The positive and negative impact of tourism on the environment. What is ecotourism? Sustainable tourism.

�  Tectonic activity: �  Know the structure of the earth and why plates move �  Why do earthquakes and volcano activity happen? �  What are the characteristics of volcanoes? �  Case studies. �  Can earthquake deaths be prevented? �  What is a Tsunami? – What are their effects? �  Geography of Crime �  Know the different types of crime �  Understand why certain crimes happen in particular

�  Q – Explain the consequences of deforestation (4 marks)

�  Level 1 basic ◦  Soil becomes less fertile, floods can happen,
