Yuba-Sutter Area’s Agricultural Industry! Did you know that the top ten (10) commodities of Yuba and Sutter counties are:

Rice, Walnuts, Peaches, Prunes, Tomatoes, Cattle/calves, Almonds, Wheat, Beans, & Nursery products?

We indeed remain an agricultural area. Our commerce is tied to the seasons of preparing, planting, growing, harvesting and shipping of agricultural products.

Awards Offered: • BEST OF SHOW: $20 & Rosette • RESERVE BEST OF SHOW: $10 & Rosette • BEST OF DIVISION: Rosette Premiums Offered: First: $7.00 Second: $5.00 Third: $3.00 Entry Information: • Entry Fee: $1.00 • Entry Limit: No Limit • Entries are to be delivered to the Flower House Building. • See Still Exhibit Schedule for receiving of entry, judging and pick-up dates/times. Rules: • Eligibility: Open to California residents, ages 18 & younger. • The type of entry desired for exhibit will be the uniform commercial grade. • The number of vegetables to exhibit and manner of exhibiting are described in How To

Prepare Vegetables for Exhibits from the Cooperative Extension Service, University of California.

• The quality desired in agricultural and horticultural exhibits is the same quality that brings the best financial return in the commercial market. Such exhibits must be at least equal in maturity to that state of ripeness required by Section 42513 of the California Agricultural Code in order to be considered for premium awards.

• Items may not be entered in “Any Other” classes if there is a class offered for that item. • Mature means having reached that stage of ripeness which will insure the completion of

the ripening process to a degree which will insure palatability after the removal of the product from the tree, plant or vine.

• Overripe means having an advanced state of maturity, which causes the product to be undesirable for human consumption in a fresh state.
