SW AVALON WAY & 35TH AVE SW Paving, protected bike lanes, transit lane, spot parking removal
Starting as soon as 2019, we’ll pave SW Avalon Way and a segment of 35th Ave SW in West Seattle. Paving projects create opportunities to update street design, which can improve safety and move people and goods more efficiently in a growing Seattle.
This project will add protected bike lanes on SW Avalon Way to separate people biking from traffic and narrow the travel lanes to encourage slower and safer speeds.
The inbound transit lane on SW Avalon Way for RapidRide will be maintained on weekday mornings. Twelve parking spaces will be removed and 23 parking spaces will be restricted on weekday mornings for transit. See map for details.
Area paving locations• SW Avalon Way: SW Spokane St to Fauntleroy Way SW• 35th Ave SW: SW Alaska St to SW Avalon Way• SW Alaska St: 36th Ave SW – 35th Ave SW
