SASKATCHEWAN CONFIRMS HUMAN CASE OF WEST NILE VIRUS
gov.ca - One Saskatchewan resident has been hospitalized due to West Nile neurological syndrome and six others are under investigation for West Nile Virus infections.
The recent cases likely became infected during the last weeks of August and early September. The risk level is now low.
Most people who become infected with West Nile Virus experience no

“People who develop symptoms such as severe headaches, persistent high fever or confusion should seek medical attention immediately,” Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab said. “However, we are nearing the end of the summer season, and the risk of

SASKATCHEWAN’S GREEN POWER BILLING PROGRAM GONE FOR NOW
cbc.ca - Some SaskPower customers have noticed something missing on their bills — the Crown utility’s Green Power program is gone.
It started in 2002, as a way to let cus-tomers pay a little more to buy wind power.
However, Ottawa cut subsidies for wind last year and the premium bill-ing service is now on hold.
SaskPower says Green Power is not necessarily dead, though.
It says the program is under review as the company re-evaluates environ-mental strategies.
Meanwhile, the use of wind as a power source continues. SaskPower gets wind power from turbines in the Gull Lake, Moosomin and other areas.

A boy was teach-ing a girl arithme-tic, he said it was his mission. He kissed her once;
he kissed her twice and said, “Now that’s ad-dition.” In silent satisfaction, she sweetly gave the kisses back and
said, “Now that’s subtraction.”
Then he kissed her, she kissed
him, without an explanation. And
both together smiled and said, “That’s multipli-cation.” Then her
Dad appeared upon the scene
and made a quick decision. He
kicked that boy three blocks away and said, “That’s long division!”

Neptune, generally the eighth planet from the sun, was postulated by the French astronomer Urbain-Jean-Joseph Le Verrier, who calculat-ed the approximate location of the planet by studying gravity-induced disturbances in the motions of Uranus. On September 23, 1846, Le Verrier informed Galle of his findings, and the same night Galle and his assistant Heinrich Louis d’Arrest identified Neptune at their ob-servatory in Berlin. Noting its movement rel-ative to background stars over 24 hours con-firmed that it was a planet.
The blue gas giant, which has a diameter four times that of Earth, was named for the Roman god of the sea. It has eight known moons, of which Triton is the largest, and a ring system containing three bright and two dim rings. It completes an orbit of the sun once every 165 years. In 1989, the U.S. planetary spacecraft Voyager 2 was the first human spacecraft to visit Neptune.
