The UAB VIRTUAL PRESCHOOL will cover the

remaining topics that were planned for the rest

of the preschool year. It’s planned to go like this:

Materials for the first week & supplies can be

picked up during the “Parade of Preschoolers”

on Monday, May 4th. (See sidebar to the left.)

Each week students will receive a weekly

packet in the mail with school materials and

incentives. These materials are similar to what

they have done in preschool and brought

home. Estimated time to complete is 5-10

minutes each.

Approximately 5 weekly videos (by our

Preschool staff) will be available online to be

viewed whenever best fits your family’s needs.

Zoom sessions to safely connect with friends.

MWF students will continue with their weekly

homework. A picture of their finished homework

can be emailed so teachers can look it over

and offer encouragement.

If you’re in the MWF class and interested, a

safe Preschool Graduation will be scheduled.

The Virtual Preschool program will run 8

weeks. We’ve applied for the Paycheck

Protection Program and have received a gift

towards this program so we’re only asking for a

one-time, optional donation (suggested $10) to

help cover costs.

PARADE OF PRESCHOOLERS MONDAY, MAY 4TH

WHY? For students to see

the teachers, to receive an

Easter basket treat, & to

pick up supplies for Virtual

Preschool.

HOW? Students & their

parents/families drive

through the Preschool

driveway and receive their

things in a contactless

method. Enter from College

Avenue, please.

WHEN? TuTh students are to

drive through anytime

between 5:30-6:15pm, and

MWF students anytime

between 6:15-7:00pm.

ALSO: Part of the parade will

be a video station where

each student—from your

car—can record a message

to their friends. The

greetings will be put

together and shared so

everyone can see their

friends messages!

All students & family members must stay in their

vehicle at all times.

We are living in unusual times. We,

and our preschoolers, were abruptly

thrust into this. Yet, participating in

VIRTUAL PRESCHOOL can:

provide exposure & encouragement to learn the materials &

work on the skills needed later in kindergarten.

remind preschoolers that they are cared for by friends & teach-

ers through “safe” social interactions.

create an opportunity to “finish out” the school

year & have closure.

Many of you will be receiving

a tuition refund. If your child

is going to participate in VIR-

TUAL PRESCHOOL and you want

your refund, you will be able
