Your home from home at sea
We like to think that our fleet of four — Balmoral, Braemar, Black Watch and Boudicca — is very special. Each ship is different, with itsown unique character. In fact, some regular cruisers choose their ship before they choose their destination! However, all four share aclassic yet contemporary style and the warmer, more welcoming atmosphere that sets Fred. Olsen apart.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED
Holding between 800 and 1350 passengers, our ships aren’t floating Las Vegas-style resorts and they don’t have climbing walls, wavemachines and skating rinks. We see that as a real benefit. Smaller and with a more friendly atmosphere, you’re always welcome on a Fred.Olsen ship. And it’s easy to get around, without getting lost — without walking for miles.
On board, you’ll find everything you need for an unforgettable holiday, including a selection of bars, restaurants, lounges, shops, a salon,a gym, swimming pools and even golf nets, where you can practice your swing on days at sea.
With fewer guests, not only will you enjoy a more personal experience, you’ll find you won’t be fighting for space with thousands of others. The large windows and generous layout of our lounges mean you may well be surprised by how spacious and open the ships feel.

Food, glorious food Food, glorious food
At Fred. Olsen, we know that dining on board is one of the experiences that makes your cruise such a pleasure. This is why ourteam of expert chefs painstakingly plan sumptuous menus of carefully prepared meals, designed to make your mouth water.
Every day our menus are something special, with dishes varying from appetisers such as herb marinated salmon or crabmeat cocktail, toindulgent main courses like sirloin steak with a choice of sauces, pan-seared red snapper with scallops, slow roast duckling confit orbalsamic braised lamb shank.
Of course, we always have options for vegetarians and healthy choices too, with an emphasis on fish dishes inspired by our Norwegianheritage: so even if you’re watching your diet, you’re in for a treat! Our desserts are every bit as tasty (think white chocolate parfait ormango apple tart) and the sugar free option means no-one has to miss out. Should you have any special dietary requests, just let us knowwhen you make your booking and we’ll do everything we can to make sure that all your needs are met.
Just take a look at the sample menu opposite. sounds so good, you might find it hard to choose!
TREAT YOURSELF TO TRADITIONAL AFTERNOON TEA
Complimentary afternoon tea, served every day, is included in your cruise price. If you’re looking for something really exclusive, you’resure to be tempted by our premium Traditional Afternoon Tea service.
Held in the comfort of our Observatory Lounge, white-gloved waiters will serve you fine teas and a selection of freshly made sandwiches, delicious cakes and warm scones with clotted cream, while a pianist plays gently in the background.
Traditional Afternoon Tea is available for just £6.95 per person*. We heartily recommend it for anyone who enjoys being spoilt.
DRINKS AT UK PUB PRICES
Unlike some other cruise lines, we don’t charge a small fortune at the bar. We want you to relax and enjoy your holiday and not worryabout how much things cost. Our drink prices are really reasonable, with a glass of house white costing £3.75, a pint of lager £3.10, and agin and tonic also around £3.10 (depending on the brand of gin).*
We offer an extensive wine list with dinner — featuring a fantastic selection at sensible prices. You may even be tempted to celebrateyour holiday with champagne — and with Bollinger at only £45 per bottle*, why not?

However, direct flights to Bali,Malaysia and Thailand mean that it offers great options for more complex itineraries. Forsomething a bit different fly direct to Mauritius or Vietnam.

THE CULTURE
The cynics will say that the culture of Hong Kong is capitalism, and there is no doubt thatit still thrives, but Hong Kong is far more than just big business. There are over 350 temples in Hong Kong and more religiousfestivals than you can count. On the other hand, gambling is a national sport and mostHong Kong residents will be found paying homage at the racecourse at some time!
