rrw’s progress monitoring provides a prescriptive approach to intervention by monitoring and documenting student’s academic vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.

How it works...the student takes the placement test to determine their initial Placement level in the program.
the teacher assigns the student a passage and book to read based on the results of the student’s placement test.
after the student has finished reading the book and completed the assigned activities, the teacher reviews the student’s work and e-learning scores to determine the next passage and book the student will read.

the student accesses the e-learning passage and goes through the scaffolded reading lesson that includes vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency practice and assessment. the e-learning reading lesson prepares the student to read the book.
the student and teacher discuss the e-learning passage and review the student’s Scorecard. then the teacher assigns vocabulary, comprehension, or journal activities for the student to complete while reading the book. the teacher may have the student read the book independently, with a partner, in a small teacher-lead group, or one-on-one with the teacher.
