Proposed local law The City proposes to make the City of Gosnells Extractive Industries Repeal Local Law 2017. The purpose is to repeal the City of Gosnells Extractive Industries Local Law 2000 and the effect is to repeal a local law that is no longer considered necessary. A copy of the proposed local law may be viewed at the City’s Civic Centre at 2120 Albany Highway Gosnells between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, at the City’s libraries during normal opening hours, or from the City’s website. Written submissions can be made to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 662, Gosnells WA 6990 by 4pm on Monday 20 November. Enjoy a ‘spirited’ 5.5km walk along a bush track from historic Victoria Dam to the Bickley Reservoir, including spectacular views of the city lights. Ghostly storytellers share haunting tales of pioneer timber mill workers, whose spirits are said to roam the hills. Book your place by calling 9397 3000 or visit the City’s website. Is your pet registered? Pet owners are being urged to check their dogs and cats are registered with up-to-date details before the renewal deadline on Tuesday 31 October. Pet registration details can be completed in person or online, along with any changes to pets’ details including microchipping, desexing, change of address or change of owners’ details. The City is offering local businesses an opportunity to host a BiG event – showcasing your business and making connections with key clients and other local businesses. BiG events are held on a Wednesday evening between 5.30pm and 8pm, with finger food and drinks provided. These informal events are a great way to network and get to know your neighbouring businesses.
