the learningexperience

All our young learner programmes include 20 lessons per week.

Each one is 45 minutes long, and classes consist of a maximum

of 15 students.

On the first day of school, students sit a placement test to

determine their level and ensure they are in the right class for

their ability. In bright, spacious and modern classrooms they

enjoy interactive lessons and develop all four language skills:

Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Each lesson is based on a different topic, with a focus on

learning the language needed in real life situations. Students

explore a variety of themes about the world around them.

Our highly qualified teachers create dynamic lessons which

encourage participation. Through games and activities students

learn more effectively. Teachers use authentic examples of

language from newspapers, film, music and the internet,

preparing students to communicate in the global community.

At EC we have high academic standards. With well-designed courses, dedicated teachers and great learning materials, we help students become confident speakers of the language.

The students on our young learner programmes come from over 80 different countries. This ensures

that as they communicate and have fun together, they are also practising their newly acquired

language skills, as well as learning about people with different cultural backgrounds.

We guarantee that everyone is present, happy and nurtured throughout the programme.

> Teachers take attendance during every lesson, and they are

responsible for a maximum of 15 students per class.

> Our administrative team is always available to guide students

throughout their time at the learning centre, and help them with any

difficulties they may have.

> Social leaders accompany and supervise students on all activities

and excursions.

important it is for students to eat nutritious food. All

our programmes include both hot and cold healthy

meals. Students with special dietary requirements are

catered for, and a packed lunch is provided when

11

I chose EC in London because it had an excellent

programme and the campus was gorgeous. Before

coming here I couldn’t understand even a single

word with the British accent, but now I understand

and can say things. These two weeks were the best

in my whole summer, or maybe in my entire life!

Jiaer Zhang, 15 years old from China.

12

People would think that EC is just about learning

English. But actually it is more… it is about turning

complete strangers into your family, and improving

your English while talking and having fun! I love

to communicate with students from all around the

world and discover new cultures. I’ll surely have

positive memories of this stay.

Anna Helena, 16 years old from Switzerland.

This was my fourth time in Cambridge and it

kept its quality – the teachers are great and the

social leaders are funny. During my four years

coming to Cambridge, my English speaking skills

have improved drastically. I came here for the

speaking and that’s what I got. I’m pretty sure I’ll

come back next year!

Martin, 16 years old from Czech Republic.

Classes were playful and animated. It was an unforgettable stay!

Thank you!

Axelle, 16 years old

from France.
