Why Adopt a pet from your local Shelter?

• You will save a pets life. 2.7 million animals are euthanized each year. The shelters are overcrowded. To many people are giving their pet to the shelter and theres not enough adopters. If you are looking for a pure breed know that 25% OF ALL THE ANIMALS AT THE ANIMAL SHETLER IS PURE BREED.

• The pet you adopt you will be current and up to date with their shots. You also will know of any disabilities ahead of time. Shelters now are spaying/ neutering and micro chipping the animals.

• By adopting a pet at the shelter means one less supporter of the puppy mills. The animals are treated poorly and are sickly.

Meet: Jaxson “Brown” Jaguars

The Life of JaxI would like you to introduce you to Jaxson “Brown” Jaquars. A.K.A Jax. I met him in November of 2012. My neighbor decided that she wanted a small dog that she can have in the house. She already had a Boxer and a Doberman Pincher (they had to stay outside). So they decided on a whim to get rid of the boxer and buy a Chihuahua named Jackson.

My neighbors asked if I can watch Jax during Christmas because they were going out of town. Of course I said yes. I automatically fell in love.

Time went on and summer finally rolled around and my neighbor told me that she didn’t want the Chihuahua anymore because he wasn’t what she really wanted and found another dog in the newspaper. I told her not to give Jax away that we would take him. So the next day she showed up at my door with Jax.

Jax’s story cont.To this day he is still with us. I have two other Chihuahuas Tony (13yrs) and Austin (12yrs). Jax has caused some ruckus in the household but he keeps us all young especially at heart. Jax has a huge personality and it broke my heart that someone would one day decide that they didn’t want that pet anymore.

Commitment

Adopting a pet is a commitment not an “in the moment” feeling. A pet needs your patience, love, time, and care.

A pet is not a piece of furniture. Once it doesn’t fit your life style or plan you get rid of it.
