You can now use Education City at HOME!

We know kids love playing computer games and will willingly spend hours of their leisure time

on them. EducationCity.com’s online adventures harness this enthusiasm for technology, by

providing games that offer kids hours of fun as well as educational support. Turn computer time

into learning time.

1. Go to www.educationcity.com (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox preferably)

and click “Login” (all the way to the right on the menu bar).

2. Login the Student ID and the Password(attached to this handout).

3. Hit the large “Enter” button at the bottom left of the page. EducationCity will open in a new window. You

must allow pop-ups for EducationCity to continue. (Instructions on how to allow pop-ups are given on this

webpage for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and other browsers and toolbars).

4. This screen will probably only come up the first time you enter EducationCity.. It gives you the option to

“Add Shortcut” (which puts a shortcut icon on your desktop), if you want the shortcut, then click on the “Add

Shortcut” button, if you don’t, then click on the “Skip” button. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THIS

SCREEN OR OPTION WILL NOT COME UP, IF IT DOESN’T ITS NOT A PROBLEM, DON’T

WORRY ABOUT IT!)

5. You have now entered EducationCity! Please select the grade that your student is in and click on the

corresponding button.

6. You will now see a page something similar to the one below(This is the 1st grade page used as an example).

There are 3 active subject area’s in our EducationCity- Language Arts, Math, Science. Under these headings,

you will find the following buttons:

Topic Tools- Exercises in grade appropriate skills.

Activities- Games for grade appropriate skills.

Play Live(These real-time arenas are online, interactive games designed to develop and reinforce students’

mental math and vocabulary skills. In these fun, quick-fire competitions, players have just 60 seconds to answer

as many questions as they can, as quickly as they can - working against the clock and their peers around the

country. The PlayLive arenas are safe, online environments for children to play in. Players cannot communicate

with each other within the game.)

Letters & Sounds(Grades K-2)- Fun and engaging activities to introduce your students to letter-sound

relationships.

Tests(Grades 3-5)- At this time, let’s leave this alone.
