rose and moved towards Abu, who was born deaf.• Abu received the flask and drank it. For a while, his face remained expressionless and then he smiled.

He heard a human voice for the first time in his life. • The first memory transfer experiment was successful.

• 5000 miles away, a soldier stood at his post, staring haughtily at his counterpart across the border. The night was much colder than usual. He was dressed well, with his uniform, gun and his headgear.

• The headgear was a recent invention, designed to project the wearers thoughts and imbibe them into anyone he chose. He used it to intimidate his opponent.

• He saw the man day in and day out. Everyday was a power struggle each one vying to intimidate the other.

• A snowstorm enveloped them. He huddled together looking for warmth. He saw the other man doing the same. Sensing an opportunity, he turned on the headgear and stared at him.

smile at him and know him intimately• Instinctively, he reached out for his headgear. He looked at them as his thoughts poured out and

touched them. • They were a part of him and he was a part of them. He felt truly connected.• The human had become post human.
