Prelude Announcements and Welcome

We pause for a moment of silent meditation

Please stand as you are able

Confession and Forgiveness All may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins. Pastor: We gather together in the name of the Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to celebrate and worship the risen Lord. Christ has Risen! Congregation: Christ has Risen Indeed! Pastor: The Apostle Paul reminds us, blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiv-en, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them. (Romans 4:7-8)

We observe a moment of silence for personal reflection and confession.

Pastor: Together we make our corporate confession, Congregation: We acknowledge our wickedness, Lord, and the guilt of our ances-tors; we have indeed sinned against you. For the sake of your name do not despise us; do not dishonor your glorious throne. Remember your covenant with us and do not break it. (Jeremiah 14:20-21) Pastor: God has remembered his New Covenant for us, his Church, through Jesus Christ who was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. We continue to worship as those forgiven and made right with God. (Romans 4:25) Congregation: Thanks Be To God!

Praise and Proclamation Pastor: Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. Congregation: The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. Pastor: I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. Congregation: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Pastor: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest se-cure. Congregation: Because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. Pastor: You make known to me the path of life; Congregation: You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:5-11) Sharing of the Peace Pastor: The peace of the Lord be with you! Congregation: And also with you!

You are encouraged to turn to your neighbor, while remaining in place, to exchange a friendly wave of greeting.

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness

Whose love is mighty and so much stronger The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Chorus: This is amazing grace, this is unfailing love

That You would take my place, that You would bear my cross You laid down Your life that I would be set free Oh, Jesus I sing for all that You've done for me

First Reading - Isaiah 43:1-3a (NIV) But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. 3a For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Second Reading - Galatians 4:4-7 (NIV) 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. Gospel - John 20:11-18 (NIV) 11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. 13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” 14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. 15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). 17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go in-stead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her. Verses 1, 2 & 3

Your only Son, no sin to hide, but You have sent Him from Your side,

To walk upon this guilty sod, and to become the Lamb of God.

Your gift of love they crucified, they laughed and scorned Him as He died; The humble King they named a fraud and sacrificed the Lamb of God.

Refrain: O Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God, I love the holy Lamb of God!

O wash me in His precious blood my Jesus Christ the Lamb of God.

I was so lost, I should have died, but You have brought me to Your side, To be led by Your staff and rod, and to be called a Lamb of God.

Refrain

Profession of Faith - The Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the liv-ing and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Fa-ther and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayers of the Church Minister: The Bible encourages us to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. We now join our hearts and minds together praying for those who are in Christ Jesus and for the needs of others. (Ephesians 6:18a) The minister will conclude each prayer, “Lord, in your mercy,” Congregation will re-spond: “Hear our prayer.” Minister: Together, as a sign of unity with the Church throughout history and all believ-ers today, we now pray as our Lord Jesus first taught us. Congregation: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Please be seated Offering Pastor: We remember the story of Jesus at the temple from the Gospel of Luke, “As Je-sus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. ‘Truly I tell you,’ he said, ‘this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.’” Congregation: Jesus, stir us to give out of our poverty, for we are indeed poor in Spirit. Enable us to give in faith, trusting you with all we have, for your glory and honor. Amen. Pastor: As you give or remember what you have already given, take a moment during our offertory song to thank God for the means to give to His Kingdom and glory and hear His loving response to your faithfulness. Offertory Song Offering Prayer Pastor: Merciful Father, Congregation: We offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us – ourselves, our time and our possessions, signs of your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Holy Communion Communion Invitation Consecration of the Elements Communion Song Post Communion Prayer: Pastor: Father of all, we give you thanks and praise that, when we were still far off, you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ’s body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us so we and all your children shall be free and the whole earth live to praise your name, through Christ our Lord. Congregation: Amen

Please stand as you are able Benediction Pastor: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) Congregation: Amen Closing Song

Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin

Lost without hope with no place to begin Your love made a way to let mercy come in When death was arrested and my life began

Ash was redeemed only beauty remains

My orphan heart was given a name My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance

When death was arrested and my life began

Chorus: Oh Your grace so free washes over me You have made me new now life begins with You

It's Your endless love pouring down on us You have made us new now life begins with You

Released from my chains I'm a pris'ner no more

My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend

When death was arrested and my life began

Chorus

Our Savior displayed on a criminal's cross Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost

But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand That's when death was arrested and my life began

Bridge: Oh we're free free forever we're free

Come join the song of all the redeemed Yes we're free free forever amen

When death was arrested and my life began (Repeat)
