What does it mean to say

you are healed?

Healing is not curing. Ancient stories tell us that Jesus healed people, we have no

idea if he cured them.

(and we don’t care –because

that is not the point).

Jesus healed people because he paid no

attention to customs and boundaries –

artificially set by one group of people

with the only purpose being to exclude the other

He touched people –and pronounced

them sinless, and more - said that they were

beloved by God.This is how he healed them

People are healed, not because you make

them absent from illness,

but because you let them know that they

are welcomed for who they are. That nothing about

them is sinful, or deserving of their fate,

or unclean.

You help someone get well when you put a band aid on

their scrapes any one can do that

you heal them when you

kiss it betterfor that is an act that

can only be done with love.

We must come to understand

that we can heal people.We can’t fix

them, but we can heal them.

In every community, there is work to do

be done. In every nation,

there are wounds to heal.

In every heart, there is the power

to do it. (Marianne Williamson)

and give us the wisdom to identify those who have been placed around us

to help us to heal.
