Your Support and Development Opportunities Learning with the Trust At Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, we know that our staff value being supported to access further training, after all, you never stop learning. That’s why we support all our employees to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours that will support them to thrive in their chosen career path.

To help you get started when you join the Trust, you will have an induction period where you will get to know all of our systems, procedures and policies.

There are lots of ways you can keep on learning at the Trust, be it through courses available via our online training portal, monthly ‘stop the clock sessions’ and courses with the South Yorkshire Teaching Partnership. And we also have courses to help develop our inspiring managers.

On top of this, every year through your annual personal development reviews (PDRs for short), your manager will work with you to identify any other additional professional qualifications you may wish to undertake in order to support you with your career development.

Payment of your professional memberships

Where relevant to the role, we will consider the funding of one professional subscription per annum for our employees. You can speak to your manager about this as part of your personal development review.

Employee Assistance Programme (PAM Assist)

We understand that life can have its ups and downs. That’s why we have a free confidential employee support service that is available 24/7 – PAM Assist.

Through the service, you can access professional support for a whole raft of issues, including family and relationship matters, debt, counselling, pressures of work, retirement and even advice on making healthy choices, among many others.

Staff awards

We like to take the time to say thank you to our staff who go that extra mile in their role to make a difference to the lives of the children, young people and families we support. That’s why we have an annual staff awards ceremony to celebrate the work of our ‘stars’.

As well as our annual staff Star Awards, we also celebrate the achievements of our staff throughout the year at our bi-annual staff summits.

Your Financial Benefits At the Trust we have a number of benefits designed to help you make your money go a little further – it’s our way of saying thank you for all that you do.

Car Lease Scheme (Salary Sacrifice Scheme)

Offers all the advantages of having a new vehicle without the hassle and maintenance costs of owning it. Through our scheme with Tusker the cost of the vehicle is deducted from your salary before tax.

Cycle to Work Scheme (Salary Sacrifice Scheme)

Will be introduced during 2019.

Additional leave

Through our salary sacrifice scheme you can exchange salary for up to 10 days or 74 hours extra leave per financial year – or pro rata for part time staff.

In appreciation of long and loyal employees, we offer additional leave of up to 3 days for five years’ service and up to 2 days for ten years’ service.

Boosting your pension

Every month, if you wish to, you can make Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) to help boost your Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

Skypark airport car parking

Working for the Trust means you can save up to 35% on over 300 parking services at 28 UK airports, including East Midlands, Leeds/Bradford and Robin Hood Airport, as well as major airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.

This exclusive deal also allows employees access to free cancellation cover.

Salary sacrifice

Please be aware that benefits which are classed as salary sacrifice will result in your earnings being recorded as lower than the stated salary for your post and this may impact on other payments longer term, for example, your pension.

Gym membership

The Choose Fitness package offers a reduction on monthly membership across nine gyms and leisure centres in the borough.
