The “struggling” Taclobanons have one wish: Build our lives back better by providing permanent houses. The city’s chief executive, Mayor Alfred Romualdez, echoed his constituents’ battle cry as more than 14,000 families are still in need of permanent housing. Romualdez said his city needs more funding for housing programs since only less than 200 housing units were built out of the 14,500 shelters needed by the Taclobanons to rebuild their lives back better. He noted that almost half of the 200 housing units “came from the private sectors.”
