YOUNG MUSICIANS PROGRAMME GENERAL INFORMATION CHILD PROTECTION North Music Trust believes that all children and young people have the right to grow up in a safe and caring environment, which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse. They have a right to expect that adults in positions of responsibility do everything possible to uphold these rights. North Music Trust holds a detailed Child Protection Policy of which a full copy can be obtained by requesting a copy from [email protected].

STAFFING/CRB’S All Young Musicians Programme tutors and administration staff have a current CRB-check. If you have any concerns regarding the safety and welfare of your child please contact Jon Bethell, Young Musicians Programme Operations Manger on (0191) 4434633 immediately.

STUDENT ID Every YMP participant should have a student ID card. This identifies you as a member of the Young Musicians Programme, and also entitles you to 25% off in the café at The Sage Gateshead. In order to get an ID card you must submit a passport size photo to the YMP administrator. Please note if you do not have a Student ID card, you will not be able to receive discount at the café.

ABSENCE REPORTING Students are accepted into the Young Musicians Programme on the understanding that they attend regularly. If there are unavoidable clashes and there is a valid reason for not attending, it is essential that you inform the relevant Coordinator IN WRITING (email is acceptable) as far in advance as possible. If the absence is being reported on the day of the project, please contact the YMP Hotline on 0191 4435252. Leave of absence will normally be granted for days when a student is not involved in a concert, an important rehearsal, an internal assessment or other important event. Repeated absence can be detrimental to a student's musical progress, very disruptive to ensemble work and could result in a loss of your place in the programme.

CAR PARKING The car park at The Sage Gateshead is situated behind the building. As a member of the Young Musicians Programme you are eligible to apply for a Car Park pass, this will allow you to park in The Sage Gateshead car park for £1.40 during 8am-6pm and £1.40 during 6pm-11pm (this is classed as a new time period). Please speak to the Ticket Office to apply for a Car Park pass. You will be required to complete a form and pay £6.50 to the Ticket Office for the pass, £1.50 pays for the card and £5 will be placed onto your card to use at the car park. You will receive the Car Park pass upon payment.

CONFERENCE/EVENTS AND BUILDING CLOSURES The Sage Gateshead is host to many conferences/events throughout the year, and there are times when the building is closed to the general public. You will receive information about any specific changes implemented during a building closure (café provision, access routes etc…) and we will endeavor to keep disruption to a minimum with the safety of participants at the core of any plans. TICKETING POLICY We are working closely with the Performance Programming Team at The Sage Gateshead and throughout the year there will be opportunities for Young Musicians Programme participants to apply for discounted tickets for certain performances. Information regarding these opportunities will be sent via email. CORRESPONDENCE It is essential for the smooth running of the programme that you deal with correspondence immediately and meet the deadlines for returning forms. CODE OF CONDUCT

The Young Musicians Programme is a great opportunity for you to make music with other young people, learn with fantastic tutors and most importantly enjoy yourself. We have some simple rules that help everyone to work together. They are based on common sense and should enable everyone to make the most of the YMP activities.

We are responsible for your safety and well-being whilst you are with us but we believe that safety and welfare is everyone’s responsibility and the reputation and future potential of the Young Musicians Programme depends on your behaviour and conduct.

The Young Musicians Programme will: • Supply you with the highest quality musical activities that we possibly can. • Treat you with respect and endeavour to communicate clearly with you. • Take responsibility for your safety and welfare. • Give clear and reasoned guidance as to what is expected of you. • Inform parents of any concerns about your behaviour or welfare. • Listen to and respond to you and your family guardians.

Please be considerate

• Please be courteous and considerate at all times to students, tutors and staff. • Please respond to instructions given to you by tutors and staff; they are given for

very good reasons. • Please respect your surroundings. Remember to

o keep spaces tidy and clear of rubbish. o Please care for furniture and white boards. o Refrain from eating in practice and rehearsal rooms and do not place any

cups/glasses on pianos. Thankfully, behaviour issues are very rare. However, if there is recognised issue with your behaviour we will first speak to you and then to your parents/guardians. In the unfortunate event of continuous warnings we will write formally to your parents/guardians and arrange a meeting. Continuous warnings, serious behavior problems and/or breaking of any rules, will force us to remove your place. This is the last resort as we want you to get the very most out of your time with us.

7

Look After Yourselves • The Sage Gateshead is a public building, so please take responsibility for your

personal belongings and whereabouts. • Weekend School students are required to sign in and out at the MEC Window

and at the end of the day all students aged 11 years old and under must be collected by their parents/guardians.

• Your belongings, including instruments, are your own responsibility! If you require storage, please ask us.

• During lunchtimes all Weekend School students over the age of 14 years may go to The Sage Gateshead cafe on the Concourse, provided you sign out on the register. Students aged 11-14 years may leave the MEC provided we have written permission from their parents/guardians and you sign out. Students 11 years and under must stay in the MEC or with the group at all times.

• You must not leave the building or activity until the end, unless we have previously arranged it with your parents/guardian.

Stay Healthy!

• It goes without saying that alcohol, drugs or any other illegal substances must not be brought into The Sage Gateshead or taken at any time during YMP activities. There are separate alcohol guidelines for those over 18 years and this is discussed between those students and coordinators.

• The Sage Gateshead is a no-smoking building, and we do not encourage smoking on any of our activities.

• Please remember to look after yourself. Music making and learning requires a great deal of energy, so eat properly, stay hydrated and get your sleep.

• Please remember that however old you are, you are a role model for other students. They will look up to you, so help them to look after themselves too.

8

Love Performing

• Music is all about performing and we hope you enjoy the performing opportunities we are able to offer you. Make the very most of them and you will gain invaluable experience.

• There are two YMP festivals throughout the year; tutors and Ensembles Directors will decide when you are ready to perform.

• If you require a piano accompanist for a performance, please ask us. You will be responsible for handing in music three weeks in advance of your performance.

• Concert Dress varies across YMP, but we expect you to be smart and presentable whenever you perform.

• We encourage family members, friends, colleagues and fellow students to support you and other students at performances and festivals. Please get along to performances yourself - they are the lifeblood of music.

• Your tutor knows what is best for your musical development so please always ask their advice before giving any public performance.

• Finally, we are often able to offer you tickets for performances in the building. Make the most of studying in such an amazing place.

Please be prepared Please remember everything you need to engage with YMP. This might include:

Your instrument(s) and spare accessories.

Your music and folder. Please only mark music with a pencil and rub out all markings before you hand music back to the office. You will be charged for any music that is lost or damaged, so keep it in a folder to protect it.

Pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, ruler and any other necessary stationary. • Packed lunch, drinks and snacks if necessary. • Your YMP Student ID pass. • Practice Diary/Notebook. • Any appropriate medication.

Please respect deadlines; they are there to help you get the most of the activities.

9

Weekend School students will have their own timetable. Please make sure to check the notice boards regularly for any timing or room changes. If you spot an issue, talk to us about it.

• There will be times when you have a gap in your timetable. There may be a spare room to use at this time to practice or do some homework - please just ask us.

• You can often book a practice room during the week to practise in. Bookings must be done at least three working days in advance by filling in a MEC Room Booking Form and submitting it to the Young Musicians Programme administrator.

Keep in Touch!

• Our main form of communication is email, so please do check your email account regularly.

• Please let us know quickly if any of your contact details change and get back to us quickly when we ask you to.

• We use digital and social media, and there is a company-wide strategy we follow. Please do not upload any photos or videos of any other students without talking to us first - we may not have permission.

• Please do let us know about stories, quotes, pictures, recordings, and any other feedback. Write us a story, make us a recording, send us a photograph; we love hearing from you.

THE SAGE GATESHEAD FIRE EVACUATION PROCEDURES

1. In the event of a fire or a security alert it is important for you to understand the arrangements for evacuating the building if it is required.

2. The Sage Gateshead has undertaken full risk assessments with regards to fire only in accordance with the Fire Regulatory reform of 2005. As part of this they have put into place a full management system for the evacuation of the premises in cases of emergency.

3. On arrival at The Sage Gateshead, look around and familiarise yourself with the

fire exit routes which are clearly marked by green running men signage. Ensure you are aware of two alternative routes at all times.

4. The Sage Gateshead has a voice and visual alarm with two stages:

a. Stage One of the alarm is a message for The Sage Gateshead staff. You

may hear the message ‘Will Mr. Snow please report to the stage door”. Please stay where you are and be alert. If possible ensure that music sound levels are reduced wherever possible

b. Stage Two of the alarm indicates that you should evacuate. The message heard is ‘A fire has been detected. Please leave the building by the nearest available exit’.

5. In the event that an evacuation of the building is necessary it is imperative that

you follow instructions given by The Sage Gateshead staff. Personal belongings should be left if not easily obtainable.

6. All people will be requested to leave the building in a calm, quiet and orderly manner. Please do not use the lifts. There are two evacuation lifts to be used only by people who can not use the stairs. You will be directed to these by staff from The Sage Gateshead.

7. There are two gathering areas for the building, if you leave the building via a

yellow escape route (east side of the building) please gather in Performance Square, or Mill Road if directed to do so. If you leave via a red escape route (west side of the building) please gather in St Mary’s Square, or the coach bay if directed to do so.

8. People with items in the cloakroom must not go and collect them. The

cloakroom will be secured.

11

9. Any person with mobility issues will be assisted after by members of staff from The Sage Gateshead. Please ensure staff are aware of your particular needs when arriving at The Sage Gateshead.

10. Please ensure you either deposit your items in the free cloakroom on the concourse or keep your items with you at all times. Any suspect items identified will trigger a full security alert.

11. If you are with other people in the building, they will be taken outside the building for you to be reunited with. Please wait outside the building for them. Once reunited with your party if you realise that someone is missing please inform a member of the customer services team with the name and a brief description of the individual.

12. We have weekly alarm tests. All tests are preceded and followed by an announcement. No other alerts will be a test.

13. If you have any queries in connection with the evacuation arrangements please contact a member of the Young Musicians Programme Team.

FOUNDATION STUDIO (Coordinator – Emma Cochrane)

Foundation Studio sessions are always lively and playful, integrating movement, singing, improvisation and instrumental learning in a uniquely powerful way. Taught by a well qualified and dynamic team of musical educators, and inspired by the philosophies and methods of Kodály, Jaques-Dalcroze and Géza Szilvay, the project aims to provide children with the best possible start to their musical lives. Aims of Foundation Studio Sessions To tap into children’s innate creativity and imagination by means of music. To help children to develop important musical skills (pulse, rhythm, pitch, inner-

hearing) using a carefully chosen repertoire of songs, games and activities. To develop children’s ability to read and write using musical notation. To equip children with a firm technical grounding on their chosen instrument (cello,

violin, double bass). To help children to develop their confidence and social skills by offering

opportunities for them to play in an ensemble and to perform in front of others. Where the sessions will take place All the sessions will take place in the Music Education Centre at The Sage Gateshead, unless you are informed otherwise. Foundation Studio Pre-instrumental sessions will take please in The Gregg’s Children’s Room. Foundation Studio Instrumental children need to sign in at the Music Education Centre window. The Music Education Centre notice board will display a timetable for the day. It is very important that you take your child to their room and make sure that the staff know they are there. When you collect them, you will need to come to the room where they have just been working. As the children are so young, and as The Sage Gateshead is a public building, we will need to ensure that the children are collected by a parent, carer or other responsible person – please let us know if someone we have not met before will be collecting your child. The structure of the morning: The Foundation Studio morning is made up of three elements:

a small group instrumental lesson (30 mins);

a musicianship class (45 mins)

an ensemble session (30 mins) These three aspects are fully integrated and therefore it is important that children attend all three classes each week.

16

Each Saturday your child will need to bring:

Their instrument (please ensure the bow is in the case)

Their music folder containing their book, their playing diary and any additional sheets given to them by their teachers

A pencil

Cellists and double bass players may wish to bring their own stool and spike holder.

A water bottle and a small, healthy snack. What to wear Children will need to wear comfortable clothes which will allow them to move freely and safely. They will need to have bare feet for the musicianship session, and so tights are not advisable – easily removable shoes and socks are best. Behaviour We will expect the best from the children and encourage them to participate to the very fullest. All of our activities will be cooperative and inclusive, and we will work from a standpoint of praising good attitudes and behaviour. We will need parents/carers to support us with this, and will ask for your encouragement if there any difficulties. Absence and Punctuality Absence and lateness can be detrimental to a student’s musical progress, very disruptive to ensemble work and could result in a loss of a child’s Foundation Studio place. Please try to make sure that you bring and collect your children on time, arriving in the building 10 minutes before the session starts – the timings of lessons have been worked out quite carefully to make sure that everyone has a fair share of teaching time. Signing in at the MEC window will ensure we know that your child is in the building; also a register will be taken in your child’s ensemble lesson. If you know in advance that your child will be absent for Foundation Studio then please inform us in writing by emailing [email protected]. If your child is ill and won’t be able to attend on the day, or you are running late, then you must report absence and lateness by calling the hotline number 0191 443 5252 and leaving a message. Repeated unreported absence and lateness will be followed up.

17

Practice The encouragement and support that you give your child between lessons can have a huge impact on their musical development and on-going enthusiasm. You will need to find a daily practice time which works for you and your family. Five to ten minutes per day is ideal at this stage. There will be pointers for practice in the playing diary, but do ask if you have concerns. Remember that it should be fun! Playing Diary/Practice Sheets A playing diary or practice sheets are provided which will enable communication between you and your child’s instrumental teacher. Each week the teacher will note down some musical activities for you to do with your child at home. Please feel free to use the parent/carer’s comments box for each week in the playing diary for questions or comments. Involving parents/carers In order that you are able to support your child at home it is helpful if you are present in their instrumental lesson. Don’t worry if you are not a musician yourself. Your child’s teacher will be very happy to answer questions and to demonstrate how you can help your child at home. During the Musicianship and Ensemble sessions we would ask that you leave your children in our care so that they have the chance to settle and make friends. From time to time there will be the opportunity to attend parent/carer sessions and informal concerts.

©GEMMA RUTHERFORD

Foundation Studio Instrument Loan Scheme Instruments for Foundation Studio children can be loaned through our Instrument Loan Scheme. The aim of the loan scheme is to provide children enrolled onto Foundation Studio with an instrument of excellent quality, that is suitable for the programme, (size and model) at a reasonable and fair loan fee. As the child grows and needs a new sized instrument, they can change their instrument size through our scheme. Please get in contact with [email protected] if you would like a copy of the Loan Scheme document.

18

Care of your instrument Musical instruments are fragile and need to be handled with care. DO:

Look after your instrument and bow as they are fragile

Carry it carefully so as not to jiggle it in its case

Fix shoulder rests and spikes carefully

Tighten the bow gently before you play + regularly apply a little rosin to the bow

Dust your instrument after playing and slacken off the bow after playing

Ask your teacher if you are unsure of anything DON’T:

Try to fix the instrument yourself. Instead, please talk to your instrumental teacher who will give you advice.

Leave your instrument where it will be prone to hot or cold conditions eg near a radiator or in the boot of a car.

Please could you provide:

A duster (to keep your instrument clean).

Replacement strings if required.

A music stand.

Cellists will need to be equipped with a spike holder (to keep the spike from slipping across the floor).

Cellists will also need a chair or stool with a level seat. It is important that the chair is of the correct height. Please consult your child’s teacher.

From time to time it would also be useful to have a CD player accessible. Please talk to your child’s instrumental teacher if you would like any advice as to where to purchase these items.

ENDANGERED! LESSONS (Coordinator – Jacqui Cameron)

The Young Musicians Programme is committed to the continued playing of instruments in danger of extinction and we believed that young people should get a chance to play them. The Endangered Instrument scheme provides tuition by high quality and experienced tutors on instruments that for whatever reason are not being regularly played. We are currently offering tuition on bassoon, oboe, french horn, trombone, double bass, harp, viola and tuned percussion. We are however continutally exploring which other instruments could be offered. To participate, young people should be:

A complete beginner on the instrument, aged 8 – 16 years

A committed student looking for specialist tuition

A consultation lesson with a tutor can be arranged. Please note that we do not recommend having more than one teacher at any given time.

How much does it cost?

Individual one hour lesson: £36 per lesson

Individual half hour lesson: £18 per lesson

Group Lesson (where possible): £9 per lesson

There is no charge for borrowing an instrument where applicable. When do lessons happen? Lessons are individually agreed and can happen at any time. We try to keep lessons regular and to accommodate approximately 10 lessons per term. As some of our current tutors are members of Northern Sinfonia and the orchestra’s concert schedule differs each week so individual lesson times can vary.

BREAKS Most students have a morning break, between 11am – 11.15am, and a lunch break generally from 1.15pm – 2pm. Students usually bring a packed lunch to eat in the gathering space, downstairs in the Music Education Centre. DATES Included in this pack is a calendar (to be added in here, in folder) with Weekend School dates for the 11/12 academic year. Please note some important dates throughout the year:

Young Sinfonia, Stringendo and Sinfonic Winds will be rehearsing on 2 ‘orchestral days’ through the year. On these dates there will be NO timetabled Weekend School lessons. The dates are marked on the calendar in orange: 9th October 2011 and 8th January 2012.

There are 2 Weekend School Festivals throughout the year, these are on Sunday December 18th 2011 and Sunday 15th July 2012.

The weekend of 24th and 25th March is the Gateshead International Jazz Festival and there may be workshop/performance opportunities for members of the weekend school. We will have more information about this closer to the time.

PROGRESS (Individual Training Plans and Assessments) All students will be expected to complete an Individual Training Plan (ITP) from the beginning of the year. Here they will set achievable targets for the coming year. This will be discussed on a 121 basis with their tutors and agreed by both parties. A review of the ITP will take place in the Spring term, and will form the basis for an assessment. Targets will again be discussed and if achieved, new targets will be set. Confirmed dates of the Assessments and ITP Review will be sent out in due course. Please note: It is essential that students attend their allocated assessment date/time. Throughout the year there will be opportunities for parents to book in time to see their child’s tutors and/ or Study Leaders to discuss progress. If you ever have any concerns about your child’s progress or any specific queries, please speak to Weekend School Coordinator, and a meeting can be arranged. At the end of the academic year students receive a more detailed review of their Individual Training Plan and receive a report containing information about achievement, progress, targets, attendance and attitude for the whole academic year.

TIMETABLES Each student will have their own individual timetable. However, please make sure that you check the timetable on the notice board every week for timing or room changes. If you do not understand when your lesson is, you notice a clash, or something you were not expecting, please tell Weekend School office staff immediately so we can rectify any problems. We understand that being part of the Weekend School is a huge commitment for our students requiring energy and dedication. Please do not hesitate to contact Jon Bethell, Young Musicians Programme Operations Manager, if your child is struggling with any part of their timetable or to discuss their pastoral or educational needs. We do expect a high level of attendance as, especially in the case of ensembles, their attendance affects other students’ progress. We appreciate that this is also a big commitment for the parents/guardians and we would like to thank you for your support. If you would like advice on the best way to support your child at home to maximise their musical development please do not hesitate to book a meeting with the relevant Study Leader. GAPS IN TIMETABLES There may be times throughout the day when you have a gap in your Weekend School timetable. There may be a spare room to use at this time to practice, however you must check first with MEC Reception to see if there are any free rooms. Please do not just use a room if you see it is empty as this will cause problems for other students who have booked this room or for the Customer Service Team needing to set up the room for the next session. As you will be aware, Sundays are an incredibly busy day and there may not always be rooms available for you to rehearse. From 25th September, students will be able to access a Music Learning Resource Centre which will have 15 PC’s containing a variety of music software (this is in place of where Explore Music used to be based in the east side of the building). We will have access to this space from 2.30pm – 4.30pm initially, and students must speak to the Weekend School Coordinator or Administrator in advance. More information about this facility will be sent via email in due course.

PERFORMANCES Festivals: There are two festivals throughout the year. Ensembles will perform when the tutor decides they are ready for a performance and tutors will also decide with you when you are ready to perform a solo in a festival or concert. There will be limited slots to perform in each of the festivals so we would not expect everyone to perform in both festivals. However, we do expect every student to perform in at least one festival a year, either as a soloist or in their ensemble. Piano Accompanists: You are responsible for handing in music to the Weekend School Coordinator/ YMP Administrator for the piano accompanist four weeks in advance of your performance in a festival. The Weekend School will arrange an accompanist for you, if requested. Concert Dress:

Black Trousers/Skirt; smart black or white shirt/blouse; black shoes

Please do not wear trainers or clothing with logos on. Lunchtime Concerts: Lunchtime concerts will be held weekly in the MEC and will provide students with the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. Students are required to submit a desire to perform to their tutor or curriculum leader who will then decide if the student is ready. If permission is granted from the tutor a form will be filled in and given to the YMP Administrator who will decide on a suitable Sunday for the performance. Audience: We encourage family members, friends and colleagues to come along and support you and other students at the Lunchtime Concerts and festivals. We also encourage you to support your fellow students when they are performing. Outside Performances: Your teacher knows what is best for your musical development so please always ask their advice/permission before giving any public performance, including performances in festivals and competitions or before entering for an instrumental examination. EXAMINATIONS If your teacher decides you are ready to sit an exam, they will inform a member of the Weekend School staff and a form will be sent to your parents/guardians to sign and return. Please ensure that you return this form by the given deadline otherwise you will not be entered for the examination. If any outside performance or rehearsal clashes with a Weekend School date you must ask for permission to be absent in writing. Please see absence procedure.

MISSING AND REARRANGING LESSONS Tutors

All of our tutors are professional musicians and could occasionally have rehearsals/ performances on a Weekend School day. In this event or if a tutor is ill we will rearrange any lessons or find a substitute tutor.

Students

If a student misses a lesson because of illness or with permission of absence we cannot guarantee that these lessons will be made up. We will endeavour to make these lessons up, depending on tutors’ timetable/availability.

If a student misses a lesson without permission we will not make the lesson up. If you miss more than two lessons without reason we will have to discuss your commitment to Weekend School with you and your parents/guardians.

If a student is receiving an MDS grant, any missed lessons without reason will have to be paid for by the student.

WITHDRAWING FROM WEEKEND SCHOOL If a student considers withdrawing from Weekend School throughout the year we would like parents/guardians and the student to arrange a meeting with us to discuss the options. If a student then decides to withdraw we would need a letter in writing. A fee for the whole term will still have to be paid. Please note: If notice is given less than four weeks before the start of a new term, then the new term fee will have to be paid in full. These notes and conditions are subject to change from time to time. Parents will be notified in writing in advance of any changes.

REGIONAL YOUTH ENSEMBLES FEES Each Youth Ensemble requires a £50 deposit in order to secure the offered place. You will be invoiced for the remainder of the fees which can then be paid by any of the following methods; cash, cheque (made payable to North Music Trust), credit card or BACS transfer. All Regional Youth Ensemble fees must be paid in full by December 2011 FUNDING Financial Assistance is available for all Youth Ensemble participants through the David Goldman Programme. The David Goldman Programme is endowed by his family in memory of David Goldman, founder of Sage plc, in recognition of his enthusiasm for music, the North of England and, most importantly, the development of the region’s young people. The Scheme was created to support individuals that have been offered a place in one of

The Sage Gateshead’s Regional Youth Ensembles, to ensure all those young people

offered a place have the opportunity to participate regardless of their individual

economic circumstances. Financial support can be requested towards:

The annual Regional Youth Ensemble fee.

Travel expenses (for students living more than 50 miles away from The Sage Gateshead). Students living closer will only be able to claim travel expenses in exceptional circumstances.

Tours fees which are not included in the annual Ensemble fee.

The allocation and value of the Awards are decided upon in August each year by a small

team of advisors. The number of young musicians supported, and the individual levels

of support, will vary each year in response to demand. All applications will be carefully

considered taking into account the following: Household income, the number of

activities at The Sage Gateshead that the applicant attends, particularly within the YMP,

other music education related expenses and any special circumstances that the family

might wish to be considered.

31

RESIDENTIALS All Regional Youth Ensembles take part in one or more residentials throughout the year, and this is covered by the enrolment fee. Participants should be aware that attendance is compulsory at residentials. If you cannot attend please inform your co-ordinator as soon as possible. Please note this may result in your place being withdrawn. TOURS From time to time our regional youth ensembles go abroad. Recent foreign visits have included Sweden and Milan. The rehearsal structure of each youth ensemble differs and so the tour fee may or may not be included in the enrolment fee for that year. If costs are unclear please don’t be afraid to ask us. Financial assistance is available through the David Goldman Programme. For tours and residentials there is a ‘Young Musicians Programme Crew’ to oversee free-time activities, provide overnight support and generally help out. RE-AUDITIONING All returning members need to re-audition for the next academic year. This not only allows us to monitor your progress but it also helps us to uphold high standards and provide equal access and opportunities for all the young people keen to participate in these groups. Auditions take place during May/June each year. Your co-ordinator will advise you when to re-apply, but please adhere to the deadlines for applications. SCHEDULES Each Regional Youth Ensemble has their own schedules which participants should receive at the beginning of the academic year. All schedules are subject to change and any amendments/updates will be emailed. To participate fully, students must be available for all the dates within each designated programme as this is the only way the ensemble can reach the high standards for which it strives. If you are unavailable for any rehearsal, please contact the relevant coordinator as soon as possible. NOTIFICATION All further notification will be via e-mail. In the event of an upcoming performance, residential etc, the Itinerary will be sent prior to the event with information about the whole performance and how tickets can be purchased etc.
