hintsonhiring• For a seated dining unction you should allow foor

space o just over 1.3 square metre per person. This is the

minimum you should allow and only allows space or the

dining area. To this you will need to add space or dancing,

buet tables, a bar, a band, entrance ways and a catering

area, to name a ew. For larger events it is not uncommon to

require at least two square metres per guest.

• For a more casual event where some or all o the guests

will be standing it is quite possible to reduce you space ratio

down to hal a square metre per person.

• I your site is exposed and likely to be windy a Hoecker

Pavilion is going to be much more secure than a TraditionalMarquee. Having the peace o mind in knowing that your

structure is able to stand up to just about any weather will be

money well spent. See Pavilions & Marquees.

• A level site is always an advantage and the more ormal

the event, the more important this is. Our fooring systems

can be levelled on sites with a gentle slope or undulations

but on steeper sites it is not always possible. Keep in mind

that people are a lot more used to sloping grass than a

sloping timber foor. So what eels ne as a lawn may be

quite disconcerting once it is foored.

• The most ecient sized table or seating guests is a 2.4m

Rectangle Table with 10 settings, so i space is a bit tight this

is your best option.

• Tables are available in round or rectangular and come in a

number o sizes. The number o guests that can be seated

will depend on your place settings and the size o

the crockery that you choose.

The maximum recommended for each table is:

1.8m Round 10 Persons




2.4m Banquet Table 12 Persons

2.4m Rectangular 10 Persons



• Having enough glasses is vital. I you are setting your

table with glasses it is easy to work out the right number but

always allow a ew extra as spares. For cocktail unctions

or Pre- Dinner drinks it is a bit more complex. On average

allow 2 drinks per person or the rst hour and around 1 or

every hour ater that. This means that or a 3-hour cocktail

party or 100 guests you will serve around 400 drinks. How

many glasses you require will depend on how many you are

prepared to wash during the unction, what drinks are you

serving and will you be using glasses to serve beer.

• Lighting can be the making o your event. Naturally or

evening unctions you will need to light your venue and we
