Problem 1

Lack of School Bags

Lack of School Bag - Repercussions

• Kids have to carry there books and stationary in hands or in difficult to

carry low strength polythene bags

• Books seldom get torn or at times get soiled in rains

• In many cases books become get lost, defaced or the particulars thereon

become illegible

• Kids seldom end up misplacing and losing their stationary stuff like pen,

pencil, eraser etc often

Kids studying in Fuel Lamp - Repercussions

• Fuel lamps used in villages generally use kerosene as fuel. Kerosene when

burnt in lamps emits substantial amounts of fine particulates, carbon

monoxide (CO), nitric oxides (NOx), and sulfur dioxide (SO2)

• Studies of kerosene used for lighting provide enough evidence that

emissions may impair lung function and increase infectious illness

(including tuberculosis), asthma, and cancer risks

• Studies on use of fuel lamps for reading also indicate towards problem of

weak eye sight. This is a consequence of low lux levels

• As a result of the inconvenience involved most kids in rural areas do not

like to study after sunset

– Recycle Plan

• YELO bag is made of Polypropylene plastic which can be fully (100%)

recycled

• Polypropylene is easier to recycle than almost any other plastic. It even

flows more easily as it degrades, without cross linking, gel forming or off-

gassing.

• Recycled polypropylene is being used in many diverse applications: battery

cases, paint cans, home storage, flower pots, pallets, crates, composite

lumber, automotive parts.

• In terms of energy efficiency, polypropylene is comparable in gross energy

to produce many other plastics used for packaging.

• Sustainability perspective- it's a real trend in packaging and a growing

direction in the International packaging market.

• Polypropylene produces less solid waste by weight than PET, PS or PVC

also it produces significantly less CO2 equivalents by weight than PET, PS,

and PVC.
