Yellowfin Recognized in Gartners Annual Whos Who in Mobile BI Report

Gartner commented that Yellowfins Mobile BI platform delivers native applicationsfor iOS and Android tablets and smartphones and that it is included out of the boxwith Yellowfin

s BI platform, with no additional cost for existing users.

The report noted the interactivity of Yellowfins mobile platform, including its a

bility to sort, drill, comment on and email reports, as well as receive alerts,collaborate and utilize mapping capabilities the same as the desktop version withno additional authoring effort.

Gartner stated that Yellowfins native mobile applications offer the capability tosave favorite reports, and access subscribed information. They also deliver a mobile-oriented report mode with KPIs, trendlines, target and actual values and visual semaphores reporting performance.

The report also referenced Yellowfins new soon-to-be-released application for theiPad, which will support new features like offline mode exploration and enhancedlayouts. It will also be able to run on browsers without JavaScript capabilities, broadening the list of supported devices.

Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said that it was fantastic to receive acknowledgement for significant product research and development over the past 18 months.

Yellowfin Principal Mobile Application Engineer, Peter Damen, said that Yellowfins new application for the iPad would change the way people think about viewing,sharing and interacting with business data.

Yellowfins strategic direction for Mobile BI is centered on enabling report consumers to interact with business information as they would their favorite online magazines or networking sites, said Damen. Its all about making Mobile BI as fun, consumer-oriented and easy as possible.

The Gartner report compared the shift towards Mobile BI for communication of enterprise data, to the advent of the Internet for the distribution of business information, suggesting that Mobile BI is set to become a genuine alternative to desktop-based BI.
