You will see by flicking through the pages of this Yearbook just what another fantastic year the boys at Homefield have had. So much learning, wonderful opportunities and memorable experiences have taken place this academic year, plus some very notable successes. Over the last year I have counted over two dozen national level competitions where boys have excelled, plus our exam results have been simply remarkable. We are delighted to report a step up on last year’s outstanding Common Entrance results. Warmest congratulations go to our hard working and talented Year 8 boys with yet another 100% pass rate. Overall we saw a strong academic outcome with 77% at A* to B standard, indeed nearly 50% of papers scored an A or A*, a truly exceptional effort. If you turn to the valete on page 82, you will see that our Year 8 boys are leaving us to join a range of prestigious senior schools with 20 scholarships in hand. We’ve had similar success at 11+ with a dozen boys securing places at leading state grammar schools.Resilience was really exemplified with three of our boys who really thrived and achieved this year after overcoming serious illness. Our Judo coach as well, fighting toward a comeback with the help of our caring school community. At Homefield we are proud to say that we provide a great all-round education with excellence in music, sport and the arts. Each year we work together with parents to produce young ‘renaissance men’ who benefit from such a wealth of opportunities. Here’s to another wonderful upcoming year!
