Writing
This week we would like you to write a story set in space. Use the knowledge
you learnt about space from earlier on this year. Attached is a story
mountain to guide you on how your story should be set out. Feel free to
illustrate your work.
Times
tables
Remember to practise your times tables up to 12 x 12!
Use Times Tables Rock Stars to practise. Check inside your reading records
for your username and password and become a Rock Hero!

Reading
Please continue reading out loud to adults and siblings in your home. Use a
wide range of books of different levels and types. Focus on voices and your
pace. In this pack you will find a reading comprehension to complete. Don’t
hesitate to write some of your own questions and get your adults to read
them!
Topic
Please create your own poster on how to stay safe in an earthquake. You can
use bubble writing, pictures, bullet points and paragraphs. Website to help: https://www.weatherwizkids.com/weather-safety-earthquake.htm
During this time, please get creative! Create lots of art work and share. Remember
to stay active and drink plenty of water. Complete the PE activities sent out on
parent mail.
Arithmetic: Adding and subtracting fractions
Remember if the bottom number is the same, you do not need to change it. If you can,
simplify the fractions. Eg. 2/10 both numbers can be divided by 2 which gives you 1/5.
The denominators are not the same in these questions, you need to get them to say the
same by multiplying. Remember whatever you do to the bottom, you do to the top.
First question: Denominator: 3x2= 6 = 4/6+1/6= 5/6
Numerator: 2x2- 4
