Year 5: My Learning Newsletter Note from Mr Evans Hello Year 5, For the last four weeks now, I have been teaching my Year 6 group. Everybody has quickly got into the ‘new’ routines and systems we have in place at school. Within the group, we have been reading a new class story called ‘The Girl, the Cat and the Navigator’ by Matilda Wood. It is about an un wanted girl who ends up being a stowaway on her father’s ship. They go in search of some mystical creatures called Nardoos. We have really enjoyed it so far and hope to complete it by the end of term. I wonder if you have any books you would recommend? If you need any new books to read at home, please just get in touch and I can arrange a time for you to come to school to choose some new ones for over the next few weeks. Another one of the Year 6 children in our class has completed the ‘20 in 2020 Reading Challenge’. If anybody has managed to finish it, please let me know so you can be entered into the prize draw. Remember, there is only a few weeks to go. I have still been continuing to do Joe Wicks’ PE lesson. I have been getting up early each morning to do this before travelling to school. It is a shame he is only doing it three times a week now but I think he has done a great job motivating people to be active - It has certainly worked on me. Keep working hard at home. I can’t wait to see you all back in September. Please keep me updated on how you are getting on by getting your parents to email me at [email protected] Keep safe, Mr Evans

Year 5: My Learning Newsletter

Note from Mr Evans

Hello Year 5,

For the last four weeks now, I have been teaching my Year 6 group. Everybody has quickly got into

the ‘new’ routines and systems we have in place at school.

Within the group, we have been reading a new class story called ‘The Girl, the Cat

and the Navigator’ by Matilda Wood. It is about an un wanted girl who ends up

being a stowaway on her father’s ship. They go in search of some mystical

creatures called Nardoos. We have really enjoyed it so far and hope to complete

it by the end of term. I wonder if you have any books you would recommend? If

you need any new books to read at home, please just get in touch and I can

arrange a time for you to come to school to choose some new ones for over the

next few weeks.

Another one of the Year 6 children in our class has completed the ‘20 in 2020 Reading

Challenge’. If anybody has managed to finish it, please let me know so you can be entered into

the prize draw. Remember, there is only a few weeks to go.

I have still been continuing to do Joe Wicks’ PE lesson. I have been getting up early each morning

to do this before travelling to school. It is a shame he is only doing it three times a week now but

I think he has done a great job motivating people to be active - It has certainly worked on me.

Keep working hard at home. I can’t wait to see you all back in September. Please keep me

updated on how you are getting on by getting your parents to email me at

[email protected]

Keep safe,

Mr Evans
