Koala and Joey Parent Meeting

Welcome, please sign the register if you haven't already and please take your seat.

Koalas (Year 3) – Mr Ryan Clark

Joeys (Year 2/3) – Mr Jason Cain

PrayerI dreamed I stood in a studio and watched the sculptors there. The clay they used was a young child's mind, and they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher; the tools he used were books, and music, and art. One, a parent with a guiding hand, and a gentle, loving heart.

________________________________

PrayerDay after day the teacher toiled, with touch that was deft and sure, While the parents labored by his side and polished and smoothed it o'er.

And when at last their task was done, they were proud of what they had wrought. For this thing they had molded in the child could neither be sold nor bought.

________________________________

PrayerAnd each agreed he would have failed if he had worked alone, For behind the parent stood the school and behind the teacher, the home.

WelcomeThis meeting is designed to provide you with some important information for you and your child this term. As our numbers in the school have grown over the last few years, some of the school policies and procedures have had to change. Because of this, the staff have decided to hold parent information meetings to help inform you of these changes. If you have any questions during the meeting please feel free to ask.

Student Behaviour• At the beginning of the school year, the class • came up with our own classroom rules.• Our class has a behaviour chart and the students will begin

each day on ‘Ready to Learn’.• Each time a student is using their keys and following class

guidelines they will be given an in class reward (money). • In both classes, we have created a Banking System where

children receive money for excellent behaviour and lose money for inappropriate behaviour.

________________________________

Student Behaviour• On top of this the children receive a weekly • salary for completing a job successfully in class (eg Desk

Monitor or Bag Monitor)• The children can save their money and throughout the year

use their money to purchase items (eg treats and stationary).

This helps foster a love of reading as well as reinforcing how important it is to read every day.
