Lars Heine’s CornerDear all,

The summer in the Northern part of Europe are soon coming to an end, and employees involved in operations will soon start preparing the budgets for next year. Even though the market situation is looking quite good for DOF, the focus will always be to keep control of the costs. Preparing real-istic budgets for safe operation of our vessels is very important in that respect. For those of you who are involved in this work; try to include all expenses, but also be prepared that suggestions for improvement will be challenged, and might be rejected.

From time to time I believe we all are having hectic days at work, both at sea and onshore. I would like to encourage you all to focus at your health, by eating healthy and do regular exercising.Remember that a 30 minutes’ walk each day can make a big difference. With strong health you are also better fit for stressed situations at work. When having a hard day on the job, please try to focus on the things you have managed to do, don’t bother too much on the things you did not manage. Remember; tomorrow is another day!

As you all know, DOF have a growing fleet of sophisticated vessels. The last vessel in the fleet was named on the 31st of July. Skandi Skolten is an impressive vessel, and I would like to con-gratulate all personnel involved in the project. At present Skandi Skolten and her sister vessel Skandi Vega are the largest Anchor-Handlers in the world, with a lenght of 108m, a breath of 24m and 35.000Hp in the engine room. Skandi Skolten even performed a new record Bollard Pull test, said to be the highest pull done by any Anchor-Handler so far. This fact is proudly marked by the crew as you can see on the picture below.

With a growing fleet you will meet new colleagues, please welcome and take good care of new team members, and help them contributing to success for yourself and the company.

Yours SincerelyLarsH
